Raspberry: TV off means HIFI DiGi + OFF

  • Hi Forum,

I've got an Rpi 4B with an HIFI DiGi +-Board running LibreELEC 9.2.1 . It's connected to my TV via HDMI and to my DAC via Toslink. Both connections are doing fine as long as my TV is on before Rpi starts and the "Audio Profiles"-Add-on automatically switches between HDMI and Toslink wether I listen to music or watch a film.

But when the TV is off, even the Toslink doesn't work anymore (also the DAC doesn't indicate incomming signals). I'd like playing music without my TV being switched on, while Kodi can be controlled remotely with Yatse from my Androids.

Is there any way to activate the HIFI DiGi +-Board at startup, regardless HDMI is activated and TV is on?

    Thanks in advance!!!

  • Hi Da Flex,

I just upgraded to latest LE as proposed and now I can start the Rpi and get the music to the DAC without having to start the TV simultaneously.

    So: Thanks!

Next little challenge is getting passthrough to work, but this would only be kind of nice to have.

    • Check the HDMI cable. It should be conform to HDMI 2.0 or 2.1 to transmit 4K AND HD audio.
    • Play around with the amount of output channels. Normally 2 output channels will do, and other channels are mixed into them.
