ssd does not mount at startup

  • hello,

since a few days i have a problem with my raspi 1 rev b und libreelec 9.2.6 (there are no newer versions for raspi 1).

have buyed a new ssd (samsumg evo, 2tb, exfat) and this does not automount on startup. my old ssd (samsung evo 500gb, ntfs) does it everytime over years.

but if libreelec is running and i unplug the ssd from the ssd-adaper (separate power supply, connected to the raspi usb port) and plug it in again, he mounts it ?!

what can i do? perhaps a hardcoded entry with the correct mountline in etc/fstab? or a script that runs at the end of the booting and tries to mount this specific sda

until it works? but then i need assistance how to do that. :)

my problem is: the only way i can access libreelec is via a wireless trackball (mediacenter+tv) or by editing the libreelec files direct on the sdcard on my win10 pc via adapter.

    what can i do?

    thank you in advice

    tenim

  • ok, i figured out now what the problem was. when i turned on the power, the pi and the usb adapter were turned on at the same time. but: the new ssd probably needs a few hundredths of a second longer to initialize than the old one. but the pi tries to mount/recognize immediately at system startup. since the ssd was not ready then, it failed. now i have connected the usb adapter to a constantly available power source and now it works!
