Low volume output playing music from hard drive, higher when playing pandoki, system sounds

  • Hi everyone,

I have a multimedia server with the following specs:

    Rpi 4

    Libreelec 10.0.1

    Kodi Matrix

    Pimoroni Phat-Dac

The issue is that the volume output is considerably low, lacks the punch when I play music from an attached external hard drive. Speakers' volume knob is set to about 95%, I however need to up the volume in Kodi past 50% for the sound to start getting loud and yet it sounds "forced loud" and dull. When playing pandoki though, if Kodi´'s volume is set at 25% (speakers remain at same fixed volume), the output sound is considerably higher and crisp. Same is the case for system sounds, the clicks and "tadaa" is loud and crisp.

I have a separate micro SD card with Raspberry OS and Kodi (Leia). Do not have that issue, volume is crisp and loud already when Kodi is at 25% volume (speakers remain fixed) with both the music in the hard drive and pandoki, other plugins. I´´d rather have the micro SD with Libreelec fully functional, as some plugins stopped working on Kodi Leia.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you!!!
