Battery controller axp288

Now, as I understand it, the controller axp is not supported in libreelec, but it is supported by the Linux kernel. Because in /sys/class/power_supply/ I don't see any data. In other Linux distributions, the percentage of the battery is displayed. How to add support for this controller to generic x86 image?

From 30 seconds of "git grep" .. ^ You need a custom image with those options added to the kernel build config.

I meant why don't developers build a generic image with the module included? Surely this controller is installed not only with me.
