TBS 6902 not recognized

  • Hi,

I have an Intel system running LibreELEC (official): 9.2.6 and a TBS 6902 card. I've installed the TBS (CrazyCat) drivers but the card is not listed in Tvheadend.

    In dmesg I see:

    [ 13.204324] i2c i2c-1: tas2101: i2c rdm err(-5) @0x00 (len=2)

    [ 13.204331] i2c i2c-1: tas2101: Error attaching frontend

I've tested the card in another machine, also running LE, with the same result and I've tried LE 10.0 Beta.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks.

  • I wonder if it could be a hardware issue. I chose this card because the LinuxTV wiki says it's very popular so I thought it would be well supported. I can't, however, find people reporting that they got it to work on LE. Most of the other cards listed in that wiki are no longer being produced.

I may still be able to return it, so if someone could recommend an alternative dvb-s2 dual tuner that would be brilliant. One with mainline kernel support would be amazing! In case it matters, I'm based in Ireland (Astra 28.2°E).
