Faulty HDMI output on RPi4

  • Fresh installed LibreELEC (official) 9.95.2 on RPi 4B.

Connected to LG TV (model: LG 47LM6690) HDMI port 1 via RPi4 HDMI 0.

The TV will display correctly if the TV is powered on first before switching on RPi4.

Oddly, if the RPi4 is switched on first followed by the TV, there will be no display on the screen

Have extracted log files, as attached below

    1) TV Display OK - TV is powered on first, followed by RPi4

    2) TV Display NOT OK - RPi4 is powered on first, followed by TV

Separately, I have a RPi3B+ running LibreELEC 9.2.6, is working fine with the same TV and HDMI cable.

Thank you in advance for the help or advice on this matter. :)

  • Yes, this is expected - RPi needs to be able to read the EDID from your TV.

You can run "getedid create" to make the EDID permanent - then it's safe to power on your TV later.

    so long,
