Question about a button configured to use a playlist (Bug or Configuration issue)

Can someone please guide me in the right direction?

I am using Kodi Matrix with MQ9 and I see the same behavior using Kodi on Windows and LibreElec.

When the Movie is selected as the active Button you will see #movies/#unwatched below it, for example 156/127.

However if I configure a button to use a smart playlist when this is the active button I just see the slash with no numbers.

Is this a Kodi or MQ9 issue?

I am doing something wrong?
