Raspberry Pi 4 USB booting possible

    Hi there I’m looking buying a Pi 4

    Just wondering if libreelec is USB 3.0 bootable on the Pi 4.

    I have a sata m.2 to USB 3.0 adapter that I can use for that extra fast speed.

    Just wondering if it is possible

    Yes, I'm doing that for a while now with a SATA SSD. Make sure to update your new RPi4's firmwares (system and usb3) first using an SDcard, via Raspberry Pi OS or LibreELEC.


    As long as the USB3.0 adapter is properly Linux-compatible, things should run fine. Just don't expect full 3.0 speeds, it's still a Raspberry Pi.
