HifiBerry Bass Heavy, Muted Sound

    I've been using LibreElec with a HifiBerry DAC+ for about a year with no problem and just bought a new Pi and DAC2 Pro for another setup. When I play anything through the amp, the audio comes out with a lot of bass and the rest of the sound is muted. Playing audio from any other source on the amp doesn't sound like that at all. I think an equalizer might be a band aid for this problem, but I couldn't find a way to make that work with a Pi and LibreElec.

    Has anyone been able to install an equalizer like alsaequal or a Kodi plugin? In addition, has anyone had any trouble with HifiBerry DACs similar to this?

    At the HiFiBerry page of the DAC2 Pro they speak about a DSP module, which can be plugged in. Eventually your DAC is configured for that non-existing DSP module, resulting in frequency errors.

    Have a look at your audio device settings. Maybe you find another HiFiBerry device on the list (without DSP hardware), which plays fine.
