EEPROM update 2020-09-03 - Not Booting Libreelec 9.2.6.

  • Hi together,

I got a brandnew Raspi 400 and installed 9.2.6 on SD. Everything went fine.
I choosed in Libreelec settings Raspberry Flashing: Update Bootloader EEPROM. It updated to Version 2020-09-03
After Rebooting it was flashed correctly. But now Libreelec is not able to boot directly when I switch on my Pi.

The Bootloader comes up for a second and then my PI powers off.

I can only boot with following steps:

    1. Take power off from PI

    2. unplug SD Card

    3. Switch on PI

    4. wait for Bootloader

    5. Plugin SD Card.

    6. Libreelec starts

I doublechecked with another SD Card (installed 9.2.6.). It will not boot Libreelec.

I doublechecked also with RASPBIAN. The OS boots properly directly with switch on.

As I realized on Raspberry Pi 4 bootloader configuration - Raspberry Pi Documentation some Boot options has changed in 2020-09-03. So I tried changing some options e.g. "Boot Order" and "Enable Self Upate".

    Nothing helped.

    Someone others got that problem?

I hope you can help me.

    Andreas

  • The Raspi 400 is not on our official builds list yet. So 9.2.6 will not run. The Rpi400 is a slightly different RPI.

Officially the RPi400 will be fully supported with LE 10, for now there are some booting fixes available I think, but don't expect Wifi/BT to work just yet. You can try Raspberry Pi OS + Kodi. It works fine on the RPI4B.

  • Hi Klojum,

    thanks for your fast answer.

I wondered about that before updating the Bootloader EEPROM it works fine. I read that is roughly the same hardware as RPI 4. Ok I see that it has some detail changes not only covered with an keyboard. :)

Are the bootfixes available on nightly builds?

I hope that LE10 will be released soon.

And I try also Pi OS with Kodi as you suggest.
