Two new addons for Orange Pi (Allwinner) boards

  • Hi This is very need lugins for me.

    Thank you very math!

Sorry but a dont understand what install this plugins.

I have Orange Pi PC Plus (It uses the Allwinner H3 SoC with Quad-core Cortex-A7, has 1GB LPDDR3 SDRAM)

with LibreELEC(official):10.0.3 (kernel: Linux 5.10.146) on kodi 19.4.0 (matrix) 2022-10-14

    I load you 3 files.

    Source_addon_virtual.opi-tools-003.zip

    Compiled_addon_virtual.opi-tools-003.zip

    Orange Pi Cooling Fan add-on

    I unpacking "Source_addon_virtual.opi-tools-003.zip".

Now I have two new folders will be created.

    opi-tools

    opi-tools-depends

    You write:

The "opi-tools-depends" folder must be placed in the ".../http://LibreELEC.tv/packages/addons/addon-depends/" folder

The "opi-tools" folder should be placed in the ".../http://LibreELEC.tv/packages/addons/tools/".

Sorry I have not this folder!!! Where this folder?
    after what you write:

Then you can compile by entering the command (for example): "PROJECT=Allwinner ARCH=arm DEVICE=H6 scripts/create_addon opi-tools".

    for me ithint need "PROJECT=Allwinner ARCH=arm DEVICE=H3 scripts/create_addon opi-tools".

where should I run this command (in which directory?)?

May be I don't execute this command and take file virtual.opi-tools-10.0.0.003.zip from Compiled_addon_virtual.opi-tools-003.zip

After this I must in kodi insall 2 plugin
    virtual.opi-tools-10.0.0.003.zip

    service.fan.orangepi-0.0.2.zip

just like i usually install kodi plugins.

Please write if I understand the sequence of actions correctly?
And where find this directory ../http://LibreELEC.tv/packages/addons/

    best regards

Yes, that's all you need. You (most likely) don't need to compile your own version of the "Orange Pi Tools" plugin (virtual.opi-tools).

And where find this directory ../http://LibreELEC.tv/packages/addons/

You will not find this directory unless you follow the instructions in the "Building (Basics)" chapter of the LE wiki..

  • I don't exactly understand your question. So I will try to give more detailed instructions for installing the "Orange Pi Cooling Fan" add-on.

The mentioned add-on cannot work without "Orange Pi Tools" add-on (it's a dependency).

    Proceed as follows:

    1. Unzip the file "Compiled_addon_virtual.opi-tools-003.zip" This contains two files virtual.opi-tools-10.0.0.003.zip. One is for H3 processors, the other is for H6 processors. Choose the one you need.

    2. In Kodi, go to the Add-ons menu - Install from zip file (you may have to allow installation from unknown sources) and select the file "virtual.opi-tools-10.0.0.003.zip". The "Orange Pi Tools" add-on will be installed.

    3. Go to the Add-ons - Install from zip file menu again and select the "service.fan.orangepi-0.0.2.zip" file. The "Orange Pi Cooling Fan" add-on will be installed.

    4. It's almost done. The "Orange Pi Cooling Fan" add-on must of course be set up. It is simple. Go to the menu Add-ons - My add-ons - Services - Orange Pi Cooling Fan - Configure.

  • Hi. Thank you very math. It's work very well. Thank you once moore. Good luck.
    Harry Smith.

  • The request was specifically for H3 only. Since it takes several hours to compile, I haven't done it for H6 yet. I didn't know anyone was using it, I didn't have any feedback to confirm it. So do you need it for H6 as well?

  • hello, thanks a lot, i will install it this afternoon (Opi3 lts).

    thanks a gain

editing: installed your last message zip orange tools file, installed service fan zip addon, but im not sure what to do in addon settings, LTS model is no present so i choose opi3 board, fan negative to pin 6, fan positive to pin? i tried set to pins 8, 10, 12, 3 and some others with no success, what am i doing wrong?

i dont want to bother you, im not an expert with electronics so, if you think you dont have to lose your time its ok, fan sound is not really a big problem for me unless some times when alone st night and tv volume very low.

    thank again

  • 1. In the add-on configuration you can set the board type OPi 3, it has exactly the same pinout as OPi3 LTS.
    2. The fan should be connected as shown in the picture, which you can see in the add-on details.
This means that you should use a suitable transistor and control its base (or gate) using the GPIO selected in the add-on settings.
