Raspberry 1B - slow cursor/navigating when viewing channels/videos

  • Hi.

When viewing a video/iptv channel, the cursor works like 2/3 fps and navigating is quite slow, while the video doesnt have any drop in framerate.

Stopping the video, navigation is fluid.

    Fullscreen using IPTV

FPS - 8 FPS (i think video framerate is much higher than this)

    CPU - 35%

I understand rasp 1B is quite outdated hardware..but if the CPU doesnt hit 100% why navigating isn'it more fluid when viewing videos?

Also when it´s idle, the cpu usage never drops 30%..even in a fresh install of libreelec.

Tried with confluence (faster), also a mod to remove animations from themes.

    Using overclock (1000,500,500,6)

    Thanks.

  • It's a GPU thing, not CPU. The GPU provides hardware acceleration for video playback. On the other hand, the GPU has to work hard (non-accelerated) when displaying EGL graphics, which is used by the GUI. I think your RPi is responding normally.

  • This is normal, GUI update is limited to 10fps on RPi1 to avoid video playback stuttering when the GUI (or an overlay) is displayed.

You can change that in Settings->Player, "Limit GUI updates when playing video" (change level to advanced or expert to see it).

    so long,
