I searched the forum and saw one thread that indicated the tuner itself was supported, but not the IR function. that's fine, but I'm not sure how to get the OS to even see the tuner. I didn't find anything in dmesg indicating the drivers were loaded or that the device was recognized, and a modprobe shows the module I saw mentioned in the other thread isn't being used:
media:~ # lsmod
Module Size Used by
ir_kbd_i2c 24576 0
rc_hauppauge 16384 0
cx23885 176128 0
...
I'm using tvheadend, and in configuration > dvb inputs, the 'tv adapters' folder is empty. how do I get it to recognize my tuner?
media:~ # dmesg | paste
media:~ # ls /dev/dvb | paste
ls: /dev/dvb: No such file or directory
media:~ # ls /dev/ | paste
I tried every driver option available in libreelec module drivers > choose dvb driver module, no change.
if it turns out that the tuner I got isn't supported, what's the community recommendation for a well-supported PCIE tuner that won't require messing around with drivers and stuff to get it to show up in tvheadend? one important restriction is that the machine I'm using is a desktop PC set up inside a 2u server case, so whatever card I pick needs to have a low profile bracket.
