The paraphrase is preventing me from logging onto my network
passphrase = password .. although <space> is a valid character so you can have multiple words; hence "pass phrase" is a more accurate description of what's involved. It's also hard to guess what the problem is from your description. You will need to be more specific about what "logging on to my network" means (where in the GUI, etc.)
when I set up libreelec, once it takes me through the set up wizard, it asked me for a passphrase. I put in my network password, but it tells me that there is an argument. For some reason it will not allow me to connect to the wifi.
That does sound confusing. I suspect the system may actually be asking for a "passphrase" rather than a "paraphrase," which would simply be your Wi-Fi password. I had a similar issue with my Raspberry Pi after an update, and it took me a while to figure it out.
