Why is my new 2TB drive not being recognized by LibreELEC?

  • Ok, I really don't know how to proceed with this issue.

I have a X86 based media server. It's a Core2 quad based machine with an SSD for the OS and stuff, 3 hard drives and the ubiquitous optical. One of my drives is a bit old and SMART reports that it has a few unreadable sectors so I thought I'd swap it out with a new 2TB drive, specifically a Toshiba PCP300. The drive is SATA3 and the Asus Mboard is Sata2. The BIOS recognizes the drive no problem but LibreELEC doesn't. At all. It just doesn't show up in media with the other mounted hard drives. If I use a SATA3 PCIX drive controller the Asus BIOS sees the controller and drive but still LibreELEC ignores the drive. Now, if I put the drive in a generic USB2 drive enclosure and plug it in via an external USB port no problem. LibreELEC sees the drive and mounts it with the basic NTFS partition I put on it when the drive was in my PC which is also SATA2 (I'm kinda poor) and was immediately recognized by W10. Is LibreELEC somehow discriminating against this drive?
