Raspberry 3B + Dlink dwa-182 rev c1 (RTL8812AU Chip) + Libreelec 8.2.5, Wifi fails after minutes.

  • I have a Raspberry 3B with Libreelec 8.2.5. I have connected a Wifi Stick model Dlink DWA-182 rev c1 with chip RTL8812AU. The problem I have is that just started Libreelec the Wifi works perfectly and faster than the on board Wi-Fi chip, but after a few minutes the Wifi stops working. From the configuration of Libreelec connections it appears that the Wi-Fi network is still there but if I give it to connect it gives me an error, only by unplugging the wifi stick and re-clicking it the connection reacts. It happens even with the Raspberry next to the router, but logically what I want is to put the Raspberry further, where the Wifi Stick gives me the 50 MB / s of internet speed while the onboard Wifi stays at 12 Mb / s . I have put the Powermanagement on off and disabled the wifi and buetooth of the board, but it still fails me.

  • Just for clarification this is a RPi3B not a RPI3B+.

Have you repeated the error after a reboot?

Can you try on LE 8.90.006 and see if it still exists. If not then stick with this release.

Do you have the same problems on 2.4Ghz?

    Please provide output of:

    cat /flash/config.txt|paste

    dmesg|paste

    lsmod|paste

    cat ~/.kodi/temp/kodi.log|paste

and we'll try and see what the issue it

  • Sorry for the confusion of the title. It is a Raspberry 3B with Libreelec 8.2.5. The results of what you ask are the following:

    cat /flash/config.txt|paste

    http://ix.io/1phf

    dmesg|paste

    http://ix.io/1phg

    lsmod|paste

    http://ix.io/1phh

    cat ~/.kodi/temp/kodi.log|paste

    https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/njmbfydrtd/

In config.txt I have the command to increase the power of the usb, thinking that the signal could be lost due to lack of power in the wifi stick, but I did not solve the problem. The error always repeats, when you start, when you restart, or when you remove the wifi stick and you plug it back in.

  • I would try on a fresh install of LE 8.2.5 and see if you still have the same issue.

There is a case of USB disconnect in dmesg, but this could be you pulling it out.

It's now a case of elimination.

    Use a powered hub

Check on another machine to see if it works.
