TBS 6280 remote control

Hello everybody,

I have a libreelec 8.2.5 installation with tbs 6280 dvb t card.

The card works perfectly but the remote control bundled with it not.

Previously I had an ArchLinux installation with official tbs drivers and the remote control was working well.

It seems that with libreelec the device isn't event recognised as before; infact I had it as /dev/input/event* device

An old post says that the remote control cannot work, can you give me any hint?

I've tryed CvH build with no success, and I cannot understand if the drivers of those builds are now in the official release of le.

Tried to enable/disable lirc at the LE settings (+reboot after)?

Yes, but with no luck in both modes. if I enable lirc with cat /proc/bus/input/devices I can see the eventlircd and lircd-uinput but I presume that they're virtual as I cannot use them with ir-keytable.

hmm driverwise there is nothing what I could activate/deactivate

could you share an dmesg | paste maybe it hints to something

IR looks detected from kernel, so likely (my ir knowledge is VERY limited) some configuration problem. I pinged HiassofT as he is our personal IR/Lirc guru

hmm, only rc-core is loaded but no there's no sign of a rc0 device being registered - and also no error message. Maybe some module is missing?

fasigno could you grab dmesg and lsmod form a working Arch installation, maybe that'll give us some hints.

I'm not an expert but It seems that it's the dvb module saa716x_tbs_dvb itself that makes it working.

what drivers did you use for arch ?

TBS linux open source drivers or the zip file from the tbs website ?

Urgs that are the horrible horrible horrible old binary drivers (~2.6.30 base) that don't work anymore with recent kernels.

IR RC not supported for saa7160-based pci-e TBS DVB devices in open-source devices.

Ahhh I see. Infact my Arch image is a bit old.

Why crazycat the ir is not supported? isn't the os driver official? Is there any possibility to make it functional?

Core SAA716x-based devices support based/derived from Luis Alves linux_media

And IR RC support not implemented.

Current FPGA-based TBS PCI-E cards not have IR sensor support.
