I2C LCD install instructions with Libreelec 8.2.4

  • Hello everybody

I've Googled and read what must be every post about installing an I2C LCD but still no joy,

Are there any instructions/how to/walkthrough/guide that are known to work on how to install an I2C enabled HD44870 20 x 4 LCD display in Libreelec?

I know my adapter has an address of 0x27 and from using it with an Arduino, I know the pinout is:

    EN, RW, RS, D4, D5, D6, D7, BL, POL

    2, 1, 0, 4, 5, 6, 7, 3, POSITIVE

I'm using Libreelec 8.2.4 on a Pi Zero with a Zero4U hub and all works great, I just want to add an LCD to it.

I know about changing the LCDd,conf in /storage/.kodi/addons/http://service.lcdd/config I think I got that bit done OK.

But what else is there to do/read/follow?

Has anyone else (must have done) got this to work? If so please can you help?

    Thanks in advance
