Display selection disabled

  • Hi,

    I am running Libreelec 8.2.3 on a NUC5CPYH.

When connecting to a 4K TV LG 65SJ800V, display selection, resolution and refresh rate are disabled in the system configuration.

When connecting to a 4K Monitor U3277PQU, those settings can be changed. Display selection offers Default and HDMI2.

    If I

    1. connect to the monitor

    2. boot Libreelec

    3. set resolution to 1920x1080

    4. disconnect the monitor, connect the TV

those settings are still enabled, 1920x1080 is still selected and the output on the TV is just fine. After rebooting with the TV connected, I again have 3840x2160, settings are disabled and the video output is distorted.

The NUC5CPYH really seems to be too slow for outputting 4K. So I need to force resolution to 2K. I can do that with my own xorg.conf - that works just fine.

Still I wonder why those settings are disabled for the TV but enabled for the monitor. Is that a feature or a bug?

  • Please (re)test with a current Leia milhouse release. Lots of 4k support related things were changed since 8.2 and even if we could pinpoint the issue in an 8.2 release the fix would be going into 9.0 anyway.
