I've been running Kodi 17.1 on OpenELEC 8.0.3 for a while now but tried upgrading to 8.0.4 but it wouldn't do it. So I thought I would try LibreELEC because the site said it was easy. I downloaded the appropriate tar and put it in the updates folder but after a reboot nothing happens. It's like OpenELEC 8.0.3 doesn't recognize the update folder. Is this a known issue? Is it a permissions issue? Is there something else I should try? I appreciate any and all help! Thank you!
Updating from OpenELEC 8.0.3 on Raspberry Pi 3 B isn't working.

Did you put the LibreELEC-RPi2.arm-8.2.3.tar to the update folder ? Because OE doesn't understand the img.gz as update file.

I did put the LibreELEC-RPi2.arm-8.2.3.tar file into the /storage/.update folder.

I guess you have ssh access ?
if so could you df -h and paste the output ? Maybe the partition is too small.

... it's because I'm running berryboot isn't it? I hadn't thought of that.

Yes. Berryboot isn't supported. If you want multiple systems on the SD card use NOOBS.
