Hi, OK I realize Surface Pro 3 is not exactly typical HTPC hardware. Still, I wanted to see if you folks would consider taking this bug because it looks like current bits are CLOSE to supporting it. And it would be nice to be able to re-purpose some otherwise-unused hardware
Logs are here: GNFW
Running on OpenPHT-Embedded (official) - Version: 1.8.0.148-573b6d73, kernel: Linux x86 64-bit version 4.9.13
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4650U CPU @ 1.70GHz, 4 cores available
SP3 uses the Wireless - Avastar 88W8897 - Products - Marvell combo chip.
Typical path to running Linux on SP3 is to include drivers from here: git://http://git.marvell.com/mwifiex-firmware.git
Copy files from mwifiex-firmware/mrvl/ to /lib/firmware/mrvl/
When I look at the CURRENT contents of /lib/firmware/mrvl, I see most of the files are already there, and match the latest Marvell files. Just missing one 8897 file!
From the existence of the /lib/firmware/mrvl directory, I'm concluding that there is willingness to support these Marvell chips.
Would you consider pulling in the latest files?
