'M8S' box with 'M8 v8_8' board inside.

I've hunted everywhere, and I can't find the correct LE for this unit. the 'generic' 905 image blips a green line for a second, but just reboots.

Any M8 image I try fails.

upon boot-up I see:

Amlogic logo, H.625 8core Mali 450 Quad Core A9 M8S

I've tried every img (including a 905 as stated above) but can't figure this out.

Anyone kind enough to point me to the right img?

I never have this issue with the 905/905x boxes around here... leave it to the girlfriend to get the only box I can't seem to 'fix'

I'd wager that it's an S812.

Does it look like this one?

yes sir, looks identical, but from what i gather, there are different boards internally.

There are numerous variants of the M8S, but to my knowledge all of them are S812s.
