For you both...no debuglog, no issue
So please provide full debug logs.

If you are using Kodi 18 you should expect issues. As Kodi 18 is 100% bleeding edge at this time.
I guess your problem is not rar-related. It's more, that this:
"however there are two that are named correctly but contain a video split into several files."
so the split into several files, might be the problem. For that the naming has to be different. See:
Naming video files/Movies - Official Kodi Wiki
If you did the naming correct, then please get us a logfile which shows the scanning.
There is no specific repo to add in general. The LibreELEC and Kodi Add-on repo is already included.
Do you miss a specific addon?
Or are you asking for installing instruction in general? If yes, our wiki is a good place to start: Installing LibreELEC on the RPi - LibreELEC
unfortunately you didn't enable debug logging. Could you please enable that in the system setings and then try to reproduce your issue.
The screenshot is not helpful. Get us a full debug log, please
Could you please provide a full logfile at pastebin.com?
Don´t post snippets from parts which you think are interesting.
DC Sports seems to be an addon which comes from a banned repository. So support will stop here.

could you try a newer beta please?
I'll try to reproduce later at home.
How long does it take to freeze? the log is just damn long. so it would be nice, if it freezes fast, to reproduce your issue and provide a new and shorter log.
you know that you have banned repos and addons installed? we have seen those causing the weirdest problems. so i would spend a thought to remove them first and try again with a clean kodi.
No log, no issue
And yes...which AVR is in between?
For the stuttering...do you have smb or nfs shares?
And probably adding video sources first
There is no option for the Rpi to authorize on "guest wifis" like they are offered at hotels and so on. Connect directly to the wifi by using the wifi key and make sure there is no other authorisation needed.
if it's your router, then do the changes internally.
Can´t confirm either with Intel Celeron 1820t and LE 7.90.009
logfiles would be nice
Sorry, my fault
the path I gave you was for the "service" not for the client.
If you play a recorded file, then the client shouldn't matter, as the file played back by kodi itself. So it's the kodi.log which is important.
Otherwise you have to enable PVR-client specfic logging at Kodi settings to get a log for the client and then it's the kodi.log again.
from where did you installled TVHeadend from? From the LibreELEC repo? And if yes, which version?
The Kodi file for debugging is: /storage/.kodi/temp/kodi.log
Don't forget to enable debug logging before
The logfile for TVHeadend is under:
/storage/.kodi/userdata/addon_data/service.tvheadend42/service.log
