RedCat Everything is possible but it's unlikely. What you can do is to provide a dmesg log once the issue occurs.

Ssh into your device and post the link from following cmd:

dmesg|pastebinit

I bet we will see some usb hw resets I've seen those for quite a while. Mostly it's because the usb can't provide enough mA for the adapter. But I might be wrong cause I'm just guessing here based on my own experience.

I understand but LE has bin files for the addons there. If you put it in /usr/bin it won't work. But I'm afraid your idea won't work anyway because of ABI/API breakage. I would suggest you compile using LE buildsystem. It's kinda hard for beginners to understand how to work with but it's worth learning.

RedCat FYI No Amlogic box supports usb3 so you could have just got an usb2 adapter. Also USB devices can be unstable if they are not powered. Could be the adapter too or the driver but who knows.

OK now I get what you want. You don't need to edit anything in /usr/bin

You need to change the bins in . kodi/addons/......

But I doubt your plan will work. ABI/API might change and it depends how your third party bins have been build.

ozkaradag It's not impossible to change the read-only: For instance with mount --bind or overlayfs but it's usually not worth the trouble. You can put your binaries anyway in /storage and adding that location to your PATH variable. Following should work but is untested:

cp /etc/profile /storage/.profile
echo "export PATH=/storage/bin/:$PATH" >> /storage/.profile

Then you can drop your bins in /storage/bin

Added ability to switch between amremote and lirc. Just enable/disable Lirc in LE Settings Addon and !!REBOOT!!.
Make sure to check the lirc setting if your remote is not working anymore and don't forget to reboot.
If you switch between the default Lirc (C2 and WH) or Amremote (WP2) it will be overridden after the next manual tar update. You will have to do an additional reboot to switch between amremote or lirc.

Following is for experts only:

You can disable amremote.service with:
systemctl mask amremote

If you disable amremote.service you can still use the helper script to manually switch.

To enable lirc:
/usr/lib/libreelec/meson_remote_ir meson-ir

To enable amremote:
/usr/lib/libreelec/meson_remote_ir meson-remote

To disable both:
/usr/lib/libreelec/meson_remote_ir disable
Don't forget to reboot to see an effect. Using this manual method you will have to repeat it after each tar update and reboot again.

There is no lircd.conf included for the original WP2 remote yet, but the default amremote should work as always. You will have to create it yourself. If you create one it would be nice if you share it with me so I can include it in the next build.

Might be the issue here.

The contrary. Once we get proper libmali with zero copy we might be seeing fluid SW decoded Netflix 1080p playback on S905 devices. There are just some changes required in Kodi.

A small? request. Will you please incorporate the latest media_build drivers from CrazyCat69 in your next build. He did a patch for the newest Geniatech Mygica T230C usb tuner. Kszag has included it in his latest [8.0.2e] build, which I tested on my C2, and tvheadend now works with my tuner.

Unfortunately Kszag's build is still experimental and my RC6 MCE remote does not work with the internal IR sensor, but works perfectly with your rb-kryton15.3 release.
