How about the microsd speed? Is the microsd internally connected via USB? Or directly? My toshiba card is able to be be read with 90mb/sek... that's not THAT slow (but still slower than emmc).
I've had decent performance with a Samsung EVO+ but it's not at the same level as eMMC, especially for random 4K read/write performance which is more important for an OS.
Sounds good. Does it make a big difference if I use libreelec from sdcard or from nand?
It's not nand, it's eMMC and yes it makes a big difference to general snappiness, I measure ~130MB/s read speed with a quick/dirty hdparm test.
It'll also void your warranty, but hey, who worries about such things when speed is on the table! 
I'm looking for a solution that offers 4K 60Hz with 10-bit colour gamut support and Nvidia doesn't look like it will support that anytime soon.
It does with the Shield TV, and that's probably your best option for true 4K 60Hz 10bit playback.
If it's just HEVC 10bit decoding you need, then go ODROID C2/Wetek Hub/Play 2 etc, forget Intel NUC's and x64 PC hardware for the moment IMHO.

I can play that file smoothly on my Wetek Play 2 either via my NAS (SMB/Gigabit) or via USB2 or MicroSD (Samsung EVO+ UHS-I)
I use an Amazon Fire TV stick (Bluetooth) remote with my RPi3 which is pretty minimalist and works fine (you will need to add the context menu button via the Keymap editor addon however)
But other than that, seeing as you'll need to add a dongle anyway (whether Bluetooth or IR), just get a MCE remote and it'll pretty much work out of the box.
If you just accept the fact that the built-in WiFi for the RPi3 just isn't exactly the strongest (I mean, have you seen the size of the antenna?), then it's easy to work around it either by another USB WiFi stick, or by making sure you have a plastic case and keeping it as close to the router as possible, and preferably within line of sight.
I always prefer to just have 'Adjust display refresh rate' to 'On Start/Stop' only, never to sync the audio to the display. This does seem way more effective on RPi3 and Amlogic devices compared to x64 Intel setups though, where I've had noticeable audio sync issues before.
Are we sure the memory leak bug is fixed in this latest release?
No memory issues for me so far since 7.95.3, and it's been running 24/7 mostly.
Noticed the same issue for me, though having the long press context menu function missing kind of kills the usability at the moment, and I'd rather the default config went back to the previous Alpha setup, as although that had a lot of buttons missing (noticeably the channel +- buttons), at least you could configure more through the keymap editor.
IMHO, at least context menu and codec info should be assigned to default remote buttons if possible.
