Also you need to set the roms folder from ES addon settings....it seems ES is not finding your roms.

Thank you very much for taking the time to help me with this. I tried everything you suggested and still seem to have the same problem. Also reinstalled ES again while I as at. Here are logs taken just after my last attempt. Also im not sure if it makes a difference but when i renamed game.retroarch to game.retroarchhh it was in a slightly different location (/storage/.kodi/addons/game.retroarchhh)
You don't have to touch (/storage/.kodi/addons/game.retroarch)..that will be overwritten with the update..rename the retroarch userdata folder which is in /storage/.kodi/userdata/addon_data/game.retroarch

Thank you very much, I updated libeelec to 9.0.3 and updated retro arch to the lowest version as suggested but everything still acts the same as far as games not loading from emulation station. Should i grab logs again?
rename /addon_data/game.retroarch to addon_data/game.retroarchhh to save your settings and restart LE...Then update retroarch addon.....from addon settings download cores or copy them from game.retroarchhh folder...then open retroarch and update assets etc..it should work

Just in case it will help someone, just renaming the kodi.Failed or disabling safe mode alone didn t help for me to go back to the old .kodi installation..
On startup Libreelec couldn't load the profiles.xml and found out it was empty so it was just hanging on the libreelec splash screen..
Just fixed that from a profiles.xml backup I had and voila..

I just need to figure out how much clearance above the fan shim I'll need for the TV HAT and how to bodge the Pimoroni Pibow case to fit it all (the case bolts won't be long enough).
Phil
Get a small fan and fit it on top, outside of the case..

I'm sure a third party will soon come up with a GPIO cooling solution so the fan is only one once it get too hot. Maybe even there will be a RPi4B++ with an on board fan controller - but don't hold your breath.
Solution is there already both for just ON and OFF and even for speed control PWM...used both...both work fine on Rpi2 so should work on Rpi4 too..

Considering the confirmed USB-C design issues, I won't be going near revision 1.0, I'll wait for 1.1
What is the issue?
-
Hi. Get some issue on all of 3 my Raspberry Pi boxes. After boot system crashes and going to cycling boot. Logs from one of my box attached. Please, help, what should i do to fix it. Thx
You might need a debug log but before that make sure you have no banned repos on your install as you will get no help.

If you want something stable use Retroarch,Emulationstation and AdvancedEmulatorLauncher from Gamestarter Repo..plus you get more support on that here..and nicer UI to your roms collections.

What is your subtitle positioning setting?
Try to change it to something else, restart and change it back to your favourite position...by default it's "Fixed"
Settings for subtitles are in system settings-player-language

thanks, dont know how it can be a network issue - i can stream videos on Kodi and surf the net just fine.
Anyway where should i place the cores (running a RPI3B+) when i download them from your link provided?
Cores folder is here

Strange...mine are fine at UI set to 720p..Latest LE9 Kodi 18.2 rpi2...
-
If i try to download cores (or cheats or anything else for that matter) i get a "task failed" error?
Sorry no idea what's wrong with that besides a network issue...you might need to post a log for that..all working fine here..
Cores can be downloaded as a full package from Retroarch addon settings or can be downloaded/updated individually from the Retroarch UI..
If you wish to try to download manually and try to run your roms before you solve the downloading issue, you can download from here the cores you need..

Does the sat-ip setup has any advantages at streaming remotely?

Thanks..
getting somewhere...not sure if it s the right track i m taking but it's a workaround for now...I built a second Tvheadend server locally as the main 1 is on the other end of europe..
Then I m using ffmpeg pipe to feed the local server with the main server dvbt streams..
The only main issue I got for now is that the video in entering ffmpeg as 16:9 and coming out as 4:3 not sure why...altough stretching it again to 16:9 from kodi settings looks fine again..

TvHeadend HTSP Client PVR Change Profile to Transcoding Profile?
Is this even possible?
Channels work in iptv simple client pvr but do not start in HTSP client...does the Tvheadend client support only HTSP and Im stuck to Iptv simple client for transcoding?

As I am using the service name picons for me it's something like this file:///storage/picons/tvh/daserstehd.png
But as I said in the browser looking at the details in EPG the Picons are there. Also http://serverip:9981/imagecache/20 shows the correct image for channel 20. So for some reason it's not making the way to Kodi. Also setting up a path to the picon folder in Kodi doesn't work.
are you sure there are no spaces?probably picon names and services names are not matching
