Normal of course it is not. I take it you mean a N3150 NUC, which should be more than capable of doing a proper network connection. But as you said, wifi is a totally different can of worms, Linux driver support can be flaky. Is there a chance that you can use ethernet on the NUC as well, just to double-check?

Which hardware? Perhaps CEC or timeout on the TV can be contributing factor.

You can use Chrome or Firefox on Raspbian.

Enable debugging in Kodi, restart LibreELEC, and get us the kodi.log file via pastebin. It should give us some initial impressions.

I'm sure there is a Linux command for formatting to EXFAT. I've never used EXFAT.

I'm not sure if there will be some type of performance loss in EXT4 vs EXFAT.

The only other drawback of formatting to a different format is of course the loss of all data on that disk.

Just wondering... Why would you add several movies to the same (sub)folder?

Since your laptop "only" has a 1366x768 screen, you will be either seeing Kodi on the laptop screen or the 1080p screen/tv.

You could try forcing a 1280x720 resolution, that should work on both output. The display rate is (almost) similar.

Most laptops have a hardware keyboard combination to activate a secondary screen with/instead of the primary screen.

On a x86-64 machine, try to get the output of the 'xrandr' command in a terminal connection session when the 2nd monitor/TV is connected.

Windows does know EXFAT, so does Linux, so... it's up to you.

Both disk formats are supported, but perhaps the problem drive does have problems? Connect it to a Windows machine and do a full checkup.
