There is no real installer for SDcards, there is only such a thing for LibreELEC's Generic build.
All others are simple disk images, which can be written by any disk writer software.
Finding devices could be done by for example the mount command, as all devices should be auto-mounted.

The workgroup name can be changed via Settings/Services/SMB client/General.
There are two locations for that... (yeah, I know). Don't ask, just change them both.
One is in the Kodi menu settings, and the other is in the LibreELEC Settings add-on.

Start by removing all the video piracy add-ons and repository crap from your system (anything Elementum and Superrepo).
With them, support will be halted as per the forum rules.
Without them, your RPi device will probably run just fine.

The wifi module of the RPi isn't the most performant solution ever designed.
The antenna is pretty small to begin with, so if you have any opportunity to use cabled network, do so.
It doesn't matter if how fast your internet speed is. If you have a crappy wifi connection, all falls apart.

a) Both devices need to be powered on (or possibly in standby) to do a HDMI "handshake" so several values/settings can be exchanged.
FYI, lots of people never turn off a RPi device, since the power consumption is so low. 2-3 Watts for a 3B.
b) "Pixelation" is a bit vague. It's possible that due to drops in your internet connection, your movie provider is compressing the video 'to death' in some way.

No clue yet about the error. Perhaps an update of the database went wrong.
Also enable the Database component (at the bottom of the components listing) in the debugging section, restart Kodi, and do your thing, and provide a new log file. And try to locate your MariaDB log file, just in case.
There are two settings in Kodi in the Settings/Player/Videos/Playback to start with:
- Adjust display refresh rate
- Sync playback to display
For PC monitors, only the 2nd one is applicable.
For a TV, the 1st one applicable and possibly the 2nd as well.
Also providing Kodi's log file is always helpful.

That would be highly unlikely. If that really is the case, then I would like to see MariaDB's own log file with those 'changes'.
Also, we like to see the entire kodi.log file (via a pastebin website). Four lines of the log is not gonna do it for us.
If I shutdown all LE players and then restore the database, the Mac Kodi players work just fine. It isn't until I turn on or restart one of my RPi3 running LE 9.2.4 that the database corrupts and the Mac players start crashing due to the database. Additionally, when this corruption happens, all of the media on the main screen of the LE players has the title of "0". The progress bars for in progress media is correct and even the watched totals are correct, but thumbnails, posters, titles, info, etc are all replaced with "0" on screen and I cannot select or play anything.
The times when such behavior happens, usually some "naughty" add-ons has been installed. But, we'll see what happens in the kodi.log file first.
What was applicable on the Kodi forum also applies here.
