I just edited your topic post. We don't allow products or images which have, what Kodi considers, illegal addons on them.

Do you have a LG tv ?
Try disabling CEC on the RPi before you leave the TV, and check in the morning.

I am running alpha 7.90.010 (latest atm) and have issues with LE saving channel groups, and at startup it doesn't load my channels from pvr iptv simple client. I have to disable and re-enable pvr simple client after every reboot. Those are my only issues with it. Everything else works perfect for me (only use exodus and pvr iptv simple client)Mentioning illegal addons/repositories in any form like Exodus wil simply get your topics/posts deleted. So consider it a first and final warning.

Because Krypton does not like your choice of channels?
Start with a kodi.log file.

Kodi, the application in LibreELEC, relies heavily on graphics performance. An old GPU without any video hardware acceleration does not help with a good user experience.
It's possible to just use wifi, as long as the wifi module is supported and working properly. But using wifi on a file server is overall a bad idea IMO.
Kodi + LibreELEC is designed as a client application, not as a fullblown server. So there is no NFS server installation addon. Use a standalone box/pc for that. You can run Ubuntu Mate on a Raspberry Pi (with external drives) and use NFS server from there, it will be cheaper on your electric bill as well.
Or install Ubuntu (and NFS) + Kodi on the laptop.

Downloaded a couple of photos from Google with that resolution, sizes are 2, 10 and 20MB. Will test later.

So far no issues on a RPi-2 box as well as an Intel Generic Box, both are on 7.90.010.
On the RPi-2 the pics do take time to load, and the transitions are slow in a slideshow, but no hiccups or freezes here. -
For me, an J4205 setup is my 1st contender at this time. Proper 10bit support however is not yet available (experimental tests have been done, but it's all planned for Kodi 18).
Some NUC-like manufacturers have added CEC, but it's not available on every J4205 product. Also, "decent" CEC also varies per TV manufacturer: each of them have their own mindset on CEC implementation.

Large photos need to be processed by Kodi, and to have a Raspberry Pi (0-3) do that processing (IMO) is not the most ideal tool for that.
Which resolutions are the photos for each camera?
Can you upload an example of a photo somewhere, that is freezing the RPI system? -
Quasar is one of those illegal addons that Kodi and LibreELEC teams will have no business with.
Understandably, support stops here. -
LibreELEC 7.0.2, and certainly the last OpenELEC release which came out many months before this latest Asrock mobo, are not capable of supporting your J4205 box. The J4205 is very new hardware, and not fully supported yet (10bit is experimental, and planned to be in Kodi 18). Using the latest Alpha 7.90.010 and upwards is the best option.
Kodi as an application is pretty solid, however LibreELEC is still in Alpha status. Meaning, things can break. If there are major bugs, we would like to hear from you. Not all of us have J4205 hardware available.
Upgrading/Downgrading in LibreELEC is easily done by copying the correct .img.gz or .tar file into the .update folder, and reboot. There is no need for loose kernel file copying by hand for a long time now.

With ffmpeg you can create snippets.

There is not much to do about that. The stable 7.0.x series with Kodi Jarvis are no longer being developed.
All focus has been on Kodi Krypton in our alpha builds for a while now. You're welcome to test those on BT functionality.

You can start by using the built-in backup/restore tool in the Settings Addon.
Since you're moving to different hardware, keeping a separate copy of the userdata/guisettings.xml file on the target hardware is recommended. -
There is a sheriff in town ?Yes, they are called moderators in forums. But perhaps this is your first ever visit to an internet forum.

LibreELEC was never designed for hotel lounges or other public wifi places.
It is a Home Theatre PC application, not a Hotel Theatre PC application.
So the connections setup page is not likely to change anytime soon.Sorry.

you could have just answered the question with useful information,I guess I could have but our magic crystal ball hasn't been upgraded to the latest version yet. So I couldn't know that we're dealing with a computers science degree guy who knows what he is asking about.

Changing MTU values in home networks rarely gives you an advantage. All attached network devices will have to be fully compliant to this highest setting, otherwise performance will sooner drop than rise. Most of the time, the default 1500 value will do just fine.
