February? Hmm... And whose development builds are those?

Well, I have/see no problems booting Ubuntu with 381.22, also no delays.
I'm gonna add a drive to the pc now for LibreELEC purposes.
-
Is this something that GTX1050/60/70/80 setups would have similar problems with?
Because haven't had many complaints from them.
-
I uploaded a potato quality movie of the boot process.
It also seems to activate/switch to Intel grfx at some point.

Sorry, I couldn't resist to try out the 1030 video card in the office PC.
All works okay in Ubuntu 16.04 with the 381.22 driver (no 10bit HEVC of course)
In Windows 10, just to test the 10bit hevc videos, they do work (pfew).
I'll try create a
dualtriple boot on the machine, it's easier than swapping graphics cards all the time. -
New results... It seems the GT1030 does work, but it takes upto 85 seconds for the htpc to fully boot up to Kodi's homescreen.
There are some errors along the way, but I have videos playing. Here is the new dmesg log file.
HEVC 10bit is not supported yet via hw accell with the 381.22 driver.

I tried the escalade build, but it was not successful.
I still get the same terminal screen ending with "Reached target Kodi Media Interface."
Here is the dmesg file.
This is the lspci info on the video card.
BTW: I had to resize the system partition because the tar file was too big for the 'default' system partition size of 512MB. It was some 530MB, unless I downloaded the wrong file.

I'm afraid that piece of hardware is long past its expiry date for Kodi.
Perhaps you can try the last 32bit variant of OpenELEC generic v5.0.8.
-
Please activate the default Estuary skin, and re-examine.
It's possible that the Aeon skin or one of its dependencies is not 100% perfect yet.
-
No, for Intel-x86 machines there is only a 64bit build available.
Which hardware were you planning to use?
-
I have a 1030 as per today, and this is what you get using the 375.xx video driver.
Will try @escalade's fix now. And... the result is the same.
Not much to go on from "lspci":
Code01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GP108 (rev a1) 01:00.1 Audio device: NVIDIA Corporation Device 0fb8 (rev a1)
I'll have to try your escalades build with 381.22 now.

It's odd. In the past I had to scrape the collection a couple of times before I had all videos into the library. But that was many, many moons ago.
Usually the kodi.log file should offer some indication why videos are not added to the library. Perhaps you can take a peek there.

To have a proper setup for Kodi to work with, using seperate root/starting folders for movies and tv shows is essential. Kodi itself cannot see the difference between a movie or a tv episode.
Look here for Kodi's folder naming possibilities.

There is also the SMB service settings in Kodi's GUI where you can enter/change the WORKGROUP name. I use NFS for 99.5% of Kodi connects which works fine, browsing through the network for any SMB connection usually fails, even with the correct workgroup name set.
-
I'm not sure how you are mounting the NFS server in your Kodi clients.
Are you using manual NFS mounts via autostart.sh perhaps?
Are Kodi's own internal NFS mounts not working?
I've using Ubuntu Server for ages, starting from XBMC Eden, and apart from a few hiccups it has been working quite well for me through time.

Must be drivers
It surely must be drivers of some sort.
I've tested the USB/SD Creator tool on multiple 64bit Ubuntu machines (Intel+nvidia), and I had no double sized windows. Nobody in the LE team uses Mint, so we never encountered that.

Showing videos under Movies and/or TV Shows has nothing direct to do with copying files to do your SD card. If you want movies or tv shows to be shown on the homescreen, they will need to be scanned or scraped into the Kodi video library. First you need to set the locations of your videos via this page. After that, the next step is the content and scan part.

I asked nicely for help, so your "walk away" was not necessary.
So the next time you had a bad day and can't reply nicely to a question I suggest you "walk away".
You seem to have the wrong view on the situation. You are visiting OUR forum, so it is OUR rules on OUR software, especially the part on the piracy policy section. It's a zero-tolerance policy in case you hadn't noticed.
Actually, I don't have a bad day. If I would have a bad day, all your posts and your LibreELEC forum membership would have been wiped off this forum a long time already. So don't piss off the guy with the nuke button by telling him what to do or not to do. If you have a problem with authority, there are online help groups you can visit.
