Give them separate disk labels to be sure. it's unlikely that a small LibreELEC version bump messes up disk mounts all of a sudden.
-
We'll need some more info than that.
How about hardware, LE version, active skin, installed addons.... the works.
Basically, a kodi.log file.

Well, the S912 is not completely blind to the external HDD...
Code

But for some reason it's not showing up in the other listings. Is it by any chance a Seagate external HDD?
Other than that, it's beyond my knowledge. Maybe someone else can step in.

Also I need to use the video calibration tool to correct the screen, is this normal?
No. Overscan is to be fixed on your TV. See this link Overscan Option on an LG TV - The Digital Sign.com

The safe remove function should kick when shutting down Windows completely, also removing any suspend/hibernation flags. So perhaps you can try again.
Otherwise, attach the HDD to the S912, run LibreELEC, log in remotely via SSH and give the URLs for the following command:
and we'll see what happens then.
-
Are the disks coming from a Windows machine?
Double-check if the hibernation or suspend flag are not somehow active, do a full shutdown on Windows.
Also check the disks for any disk errors.
Linux can be pretty picky when it comes to mounting disks.

Do a hard reset via the LibreELEC Settings addon for a truely clean start.
Strange, the i3 2310M is a 7-year old Sandy Bridge CPU. The G4600 is a 1-year old Kaby Lake CPU.
You would think that Linux knows the difference between the two.
Perhaps you have bought a gray-import CPU which has been 'refitted' with an old CPU...?

I got zero logs.
I doubt that... But try again with the latest Milhouse Generic build, not one from the end of February. LE 8 is almost EOL.
-
Sorry, but that is NOT a complete debug log. Please provide the full version via Pastebin.com or similar text upload website.
-
Start with removing all illegal repo & addon crap from your system. Better yet, run with a total new and clean setup, with adding any addons.
Enable debugging, restart Kodi, and provide a new kodi.log or crash-kodi file, preferably via Pastebin.com - #1 paste tool since 2002! or Ubuntu Pastebin , to keep our LE forum server clean.
-
You are welcome to share your experiences with your compiling attempts, just don't expect too much official support from Team LibreELEC or Team Kodi. We're having our hands full as-is already with the current sets of supported hardware.
-
You should consider ...
One more similar consideration on your part, and you can also consider yourself kicked off this forum.

You can use a remote MySQL database for all metadata of movies, tvshows, music videos and music. Other than that, there is no "service" module that will take care of the settings of all connected Kodi clients.
It may happen one day in the future, but currently there is no such server functionality planned for future Kodi releases. At this moment, Kodi is still set up as a multimedia CLIENT.
It's okay to have your own opinion of Chorus2, other people seem to find Chorus2 useful. Personally I see no need for it to be a central solution. Some people wish to have identical setups throughout their home like yourself, others are okay with independent setups, for kids and for themselves.

C'mon, I just explained ssh will not work with wifi problems.
Sorry, 1 cup of coffee isn't always sufficient for fully waking up
It has become a hidden treasure of some sorts, but apparently it can be activated by adding textmode to the end of the "APPEND" kernel command line. After booting you'll be dumped into a console. A, attached keyboard is required, naturally.
-
I did mean Legacy boot mode, not USB legacy.
Disabling UEFI boot mode should get you some form of Legacy boot mode. Logically.

Favorites are stored in the favourites.xml file (mind the spelling) in the userdata folder.
Symlinks should work. (tm)

SSH needs to be enabled first in the LibreELEC Settings Add-on.
