    Hi,

    i have a small problem and i hope someone can help.

    I used long time a 8.x version of libreelec and never had any problems. Due my new Raspi4, i migrated all mediaplayers to 9.2.4.

    I thought i had a migrations problem, so i kicked the mysql database and started a new shared database.

    For now i just scanned one tv-show and expirienced the same problem.

    First to say, i can access the scanned content over the "TV-Shows"-button perfectly on all mediaplayers, so the database sharing is working.

    My problem is this:

    When i enter Videos => Files => <The scanned TV-Show> , i can see the episode titles (like it should be) on the machine where i started the media scan. On all other machines only the file names are shown and libreelec asks me to specify the content again when hitting the info button.
    For watching movies/tv-shows this is not a problem to me, but it will become a problem when i try to update the database (add new episodes of the same tv-show) on that machine cause the content is not specified.

    I use a very simple advancedconfig.xml, where only the sql server is specified, nothing more.

    I hope you understand where my problem is. Any idea, guys?

    thanks in advance

    EDIT: OK i found the error. The TVDB Plugin must be installed on all machines.

    Hello,

    found two threads that are similar, but they didnt help me at all.

    My raspi2 is connected to an onkyo av receiver and the output of that receiver is connected to a two way hdmi splitter (the splitter may be the problem).

    Everything was (and is) working perfectly on 8.2.5 and i never changed any default configuration (only the kodi skin).

    To say with 9.2.1 there is no connection would be basically wrong, cause tv is showing up with 1080p and i can hear the audio when clicking on remote.

    But the picture remains black after the libreelec splash screen

    I tried the standard things like disabling CEC and adding hdmi_force_hotplug=1 to the config.txt. Even the tvservice -p command is not bringing back the picture.

    The only way to get a picture is to switch the input on the av receiver and then switch back to where is should be.

    removing the hdmi splitter isnt a solution for me, cause i need it and its working perfect with 8.2.5.

    Does anyone know what have changed from 8.2.5 to 9.2.1 relating to that ? I did a fresh install of 9.2.1, no upgrade.

    EDIT: tvservice -M not showing up any informations while switching the inputs of the av receiver

    Kind regards

    NO!

    Even after a reboot with network connected, i cant change the skin over the "Get more..." button. You are just returned back to the previous screen.

    i wrote the image again on the sd card to start from scratch WITH a networking connection and the problem is gone.

    Tried it now 3-4 times and i'm pretty sure its a bug

    edit:

    Give me some minutes. Trying it on my new raspi4 to see if its version related.

    edit2:

    the raspi4 image acts the same way.

    Hi hi,

    System: Raspi 3b+/ Raspi 4

    When LE 9.2.1 is booted the first time without a network connection, you cant change the skin even when a network connection is done afterwards.

    If you try by selection Settings -> Interface -> Skin -> Get more... simply nothing happens and you are returned to the privious screen.

    When LE 9.2.1 is installed while haveing a network connection, this doesnt happen.

    Tried it with a LAN connection.

    Damn it.. wasted hours of my time :)

    rude or not rude.. after years having the same problem throughout openelec or libreelec. at one point you are simply pissed fof. anyone knows that this problem exists and still there are no good (all the time)-working solutions. AFTER YEARS!
    do you think to slow down my own network is a solution? sorry, i dont think so.

    but if someone is interested... i managed it by giving it something useless to do in the startup script ... and still, that is not a solution.

    @escalade
    dont know what you wanna tell me, but even as it-eng. its not my work to fix other peoples problems... well ok mostly ..but not at this point.

    dear chewitt,

    thanks so much for your reply.
    Uhh i dont think that will work for my purpose.
    surely i can manage it with the separating it in the source level, but in that case i have to move all kid-friendly content from the movie directory. that would take days for me with my database size.
    You are absolutly right..kids are mostly limited to their content they want to see.. but what will the future bring? Now Spongebob is cool.. i can seperate that.. but what is when she gets older and wants to watch movies? :)
    But thanks for your idea!

    Hi together,

    we got 4 Libreelec installations that all work over a shared database. a fifth player will be installed for my daughter now.
    Since i dont want that my 6 year old watches horror movies i want to categorize the movies.
    the first thoughtsteps were easy. create a new genre called "daughter" and add all the movies she can watch to that genre. so far so good, after doing that and editing the database a long time, i sadly recognize that i cant tell kodi that a user can only access a single genre.

    The profile thing on kodi is working not so good if you use a shared database and a shared dropplace for images. the images will be downloaded for every user again so that i got at least 4-5 copies of every image. spacewasting.

    anyone got an idea for a solution?

    Regards
    Michael

    Hello together,

    i got 3 mediaplayers with libreelec that work over a shared mysql database. after the choice was made to migrate to libreelec, i decided to starting fresh... clean sd, clean database ... i installed LE on the first machine, created profiles, scanned the library .. so far so good.
    Now i tried to use the same profile on an other mediaplayer..so i copied over the profiles directory and the profiles.xml.
    after booting up libre its automatically logged in as the master user.. so the profiles dont work cause it was passwordprotected before.

    Did i miss to copy a file to make it work? (copying advancedsettings and so on worked fine, just the profiles dont work)

    copied

    dude its FRESHLY installed on a clean sd card..the only thing i did is to copy the advancedsettings.xml and share xml ... i'm an it-engineer, so im not absolutely clueless

    seems like i have to use an old home consumer switch that isnt that fast as the enterprise hardware. :(

    well anyway..this will become a bigger problem if users got better hardware at home.

    and because i love to follow every tip, even i think its useless, i removed the complete autostart.sh...
    3 times boot up successful, 2 times failed, then it was ok again... its like playing russian roulette!
    [hr]
    my last thought is , that i damaged something when i added a reset button to the raspberry... but .. well.. not probable
    [hr]
    a solution would be if there is a way to completly reset the eth0 interface an reload kodi... that may take the double time till its useable but its still better as rebooting 4-5 times..

    just to be sure i tried the raspberry with a raspbian and retropie installation..the network connection is available on EVERY reboot.. so its for sure a openelec/libreelec problem.
    to be sure i do for fun a osmc installtion tomorrow.
    [hr]
    said, and did.. took a 10 year old 100mbit switch from tp-link and switched it between the ubiquiti enterprise switch... 10 reboot , 10 times fine. line timings raised to above 10 times higher (0,1ms to 1,4ms)

    libreelec.. we got a problem and for sure every developer will ignore it.

    ok ..updated the file.. no change...
    first reboot..everything fine...second reboot...database not connected.

    damn it !

    @irusek.. tried it.. no change at all.. it even doesnt stay 30 seconds on the splash..
    and yeah, i did the +x thingy on the autostart.sh file :(

    the boot up is every time different..sometimes there are 10 seconds between the libreelec screen and the kodi screen ..sometimes only 3 seconds... i dont know what to change

    and the point is..that there is really no network after a failed bootup.. no ntp time, no network shares...

    Thanks for your reply dude, i tried the autostart.sh sleeptime also with 30 seconds..no function at all.
    can you explain me what the thing does what you posted on aKZc ? i can see its doing a 2 sec sleep , but on what point? as you can see on the log i posted, no matter where i put delays before (autostart.sh, wait for network on kodi) it doesnt change anything.

    chewitt... well..as i mentiont before..this wont help you cause it fetches the log when everything is running.. but here you go PXfN

    Klojum changed it by default to 30 seconds but this option is absolutely useless. no matter if i change it to 1 second or 5 minutes.
    [hr]
    maybe i should say i got 2 more raspberrys here ..one in the bedroom one for my daughter..one is connected via wifi , the other one with power-lan adapters. they work fine one EVERY boot with the same config.
    its only the rasyberry that is wired connected to a gbit switch directly!

    Settings and all are quite nice, but let's start with a debug enabled kodi.log will should give more information.

    the kodi.log isnt usefull cause it can only be accessed after a successful boot. so here is the kodi.log.old that gives you the infos you want

    and even i never ever checked the log, i can see its the point i'm saying.
    its a years old problem..dont understand why nobody fix it.

    Hi together,

    i know it from openelec, there it was a known problem. Now, 3 Versions and 1,5 years later after setting up openelec i recognized Libreelec still got the same problem.

    on a fast connection kodi boots before a successful connection to the shared mysql database could be established. using a wlan or powerline adapter slows down the connection so far that it works. but that's not a solution if you want to watch full-hd-content.

    even there could be found some solutions on the net, none of them helped me.

    tried the autostart.sh solution with:

    "
    #!/bin/sh

    # Wait for network to come online....
    # The option in OpenELEC to wait for network doesn't work yet.
    while true ; do
    if ifconfig eth0 | grep -q "inet addr:" ; then
    echo "Network is up!"
    break
    else
    sleep 1
    fi
    done
    "

    and enabled the "wait for network"-option on libreelec.

    Nothing helps. Still have to reboot the raspberry(2) sometimes up to 3-4 times till it can connect the database on bootup. It drives me crazy.

    my network is a 10gbit fibrechannel network and the raspberry is connected to a gbit switchport and i'm using LE 7.0.3.

    my advancedsettings.xml is:
    <advancedsettings>
    <videodatabase>
    <type>mysql</type>
    <host>10.10.10.250</host>
    <port>3306</port>
    <user>kodi</user>
    <pass>kodi</pass>
    </videodatabase>
    <musicdatabase>
    <type>mysql</type>
    <host>10.10.10.250</host>
    <port>3306</port>
    <user>kodi</user>
    <pass>kodi</pass>
    </musicdatabase>
    <videolibrary>
    <importwatchedstate>true</importwatchedstate>
    <importresumepoint>true</importresumepoint>
    </videolibrary>
    </advancedsettings>

    i would really appreciate, if someone got a final solution!
