if you dont have one, you must create a plain text file - name as mentioned above - an copy the code into it. Then drop the *.xml into the USERDATA folder and reboot kodi.
This helps me on my S912 (Beelink Ultimate GT1). Stutters are gone now.

Hi niabi smb is back in 2.3.1 THANK YOU.
Only thing i recognized is, if at boot no roms/systems are present and the screen of Emustation say „start kodi“ and „no“ and i choose kodi, screen goes black and nothing happened. This doenst bothers me, but i think you should know

When you say latest, what version are you referring to exactly?

Just to make sure, you replaced the dtb with the correct one for your device?
I used the V2.3 generic for S912 on Beelink GT Ulti. And with a fresh installation of only CE9 and than your great Emustation as script install, smb works. And yeah i choose the same dtb as in my ONLY CE9 install. Strange :o

Hi, i have your newest release the generic version for S912. Everything works find so far, BUT in Kodi i cannot connect my smb shares, all shares in my sources.xml says "no connection to network server" and in "add network locations" SMB is gone, everything (nfs, http, https, ) in connections is here only SMB is missing. It does not appear in the selection menu.
From all my other Kodi installations (S905, Apple TV (mrmc) and in my Android TV) smb is there and working fine. So it is not a failure on my NAS-Linux-Server.
Did I miss something?!?! Thanks for help and answers.

ScottElec is at this moment a little newer. Last update was August/September i read. Have also both installed. But i use Scott at moment cause i can start Emustation directly from Kodi as App.
Normaly i have a RetroBox with only niabis last build and a 256 usb stick with games.

I am using 8.2.4.2 and ever if a .sub file is within a movie folder, kodi freezes completely and take a soft reset. How can i avoid those crashes?!

This happens with first line of subtitles showing on screen and sometimes somewhere in the middle when there's a line with italic subtitle.
Happens to me with every Krypton and Leia build.
It's not visible in every movie but in some very.
Star Trek Beyond HEVC 1080p 10bit PSA rip is a perfect example. First line of subtitle "My name is James Tiberius Kirk" and the stutter is very big
Have you tried the 8.2.4.2_fix-lost-audio-v2 (MEGA) release?! With this release on my H96pro and Beelink GT Ultimate i had since no stutter at all with subtitles.

Hi to the Rockchip Experts, i was til today in the amlogic world with s912 and s905 builds. But after reading that the picture quality should be better with rockchip i would give a try, cause i have nothing to play and work on in the amlogic world. But i dont know which box would run good, so i searched for a little price box which i can play with. Would this box do it:? And if so, the image i should take from the test.liberelec archives would be the one with .box named?!?!

Indeed, moving external srt subtitles from smb share to an SD card folder works.
I also found that it can work if you mount the smb shares with Libreelec (see Mounting network shares) and not Kodi (thanks to @frequenzy and vinbot3000)
Conclusion: if you experience crash with external subtitles try to mount your smb shares with Libreelec.
Or if you have a LINUX server you can make nfs shares, which i did for testing, there the .srt SUBS can also stored within the video on the server via NFS.

Hi ....I have several movies where kodi freeze and restart ..no way to played ..but the rest of files play just beautifully ..... ?
Can you check the folder where the movie is located, if there ist any folder called "subs" or so. Or if there is a .srt file beneath the .mkv movie file. I had that too on several movies and always was a SUBS Folder within the movie folder. If i delete them, the movie plays like charm.
