I have received my Minix NEO U1 today and before I install libreElec on the eMMC i was wondering if i could back it up, just in case I encounter problems and have to send the box back for repair?

My TV does have optical out but because it is rather old now it will only output in 2Ch stereo giving my pro-logic which is useless.

What didn't work with the Play 2 ShinyAndy?

I have used this Hdmi to SPDIF adaptors to great success on a Pi so that is an option with a Odroid C2. Something like this:

I'm contemplating upgrading my now old Apple TV gen 1 running Crystalbuntu to something abit more powerful and more modern so looking at either the Wetek Play 2 or the Ordroid C2.

My only requirements are the following:

• Reliable streaming from gigabit lan network where 1080p movies are stored on an Synology Server.
• Connection to a THX, DD * DTS 6.1 amp via optical (Does not have HDMI)
• 4k compatibility is a plus

I see that 'The Hifi Shield 2' is available for the Ordroid C2 but according to reports this will not passthrough a 5.1 signal via optical through LibreElec. Is this correct still?

If any better options out there, then please let me know.
