Honestly this seems to be an issue (or rather a non-issue) on your TV settings, you could go into Retroarch menu (lt+rt or middle button if using a Xbox 360 Gamepad or similar) and change the video settings to fit your needs, but I don't think there is a way to auto fix it, since it seems its yout TV doing the cutoff. Also this will only change Retroarch and not PPSSPP standalone or Advance Mame.

Can you try installing Lakka (Lakka - The DIY open source retrogaming emulation console) on your box and test your gamepad?

What if you don't have access to a computer ? is there no way to go into a console from kodi?

Do you have another game pad you can test? Maybe it's not in the autoconfig database and you need to configure it manually in retroarch, but you need a keyboard or another gamepad to do this unfortunately

Frisk, I just uploaded a fixed version (same link, just redownload)for the audio pass through, it works on my device but I don't have anything to test it, let me know if it works

I know exactly why this is happening, advamame was having problems when hdmi sound was enabled so I had to disable it, I will try to find out why it's not working and hopefully push a fix.

in the meantime, you could try this, (but I am not 100% sure it will work)

edit /storage/.config/http://asound.conf/asound.conf and add the contents of this file

Anyone know a way to run a shell script or open a terminal window from -lets say a Kodi addon- and display the results on the main screen, in my case HDMI? I am running on an Amlogic s905 and I want to run a SH script that shows some information about the system, if I select it, it runs (it generates a small log file) but I don't see the results on screen

any ideas?

an updated version has been uploaded, only minor fixes where updated so if you already added ROMS to ES and you have it working no need to download it again

This is an odd one, did you upgrade or was it a clean install ?

SSH should be up before ES starts, but you need to be connected over ethernet.

I was donated a S905x box by ts-911 , and I can continue working on Sx05RE! THANK YOU!

This version now includes a simple settings menu inside ES where you can select the core of many of the emulators, but note that some cores are not installed by default (like Mame2010) so if you choose a core that is not installed nothing will happen.

You can now also choose what starts at boot, ES, Retroarch or Kodi! no more messing with SSH!

It also includes a way to completely reset the system in case you run into some problems, but please be careful! this will reset all configurations to default.

All the libretro cores have been updated to the latest version as well as Advance mame

Well everything looks to be correct, this might be a problem with ES itself, I hate bothering the developers by opening issues on their github since we are not really using ES on the platform it was intended too, so I need to investigate further and see if I can fix it myself.
