yep it looks like the pulseaudio server is only installed at the librelec file side, there is no way to install pulseaudio sound server for retroarch without apt-get.?
you can try lakka in a spare sd card and check it out, if it works there it should work in LibreELEC.

Yeah, that's annoying... this line is needed in retroarch.cfg:
framecount_show = "false"and you can switch it of manually from retroach: Settings>Onscreen Display>Onscreen Notifications>Display Frame Count>Of
I just updated same addon version and this is fixed for new installations, but for existing installations it must be made "manually" because retroarch.cfg file is not overwriting, to maintain your custom settings.
RetroArch addon updated (v8.176.13) including new RetroArch 1.7.6.

I did do most of the "update" parts of retroarch menu "Online Updater" (e.g. update assets, joypad profiles, cheats, databases). Do you mean "Update joypad profiles"?
I didn't configure the controller inside Kodi itself, because they are working without configure them (I guess it the default profile). When I go to "Input -> Configure attached controller -> Controller configuration" I see the Kodi profile of a controller looking like the xbox 360 and I can defien the buttons. I went through all the buttons and set them there.

Yes I mean "joypad profiles". In kodi you don't need to config anything... After setting gamepad inputs in retroarch, if it works ok in retroarch menu it should work in games... you can try to enter context menu when in a game and set buttons/keys for that core...

did you try downloading retroach autoconfig files from retroarch settings "online updater" menu? also you need to set your player 1/2/3/4... buttons from general input settings not from a context menu of a game, just in case.
@robmcc83 is not possible... kodi takes a lot of resources and killing it is the way emulators run smooth... Maybe I can talk to IAGL dev and try to find put a solution. For instance, with AEL I save into a variable the section you were and after exiting retroarch and loading kodi again it takes you to that last section...
I have been trying to compile new Retroarch 1.7.6 but something went wrong in my virtual ubuntu so I just get RPi version, in the meanwhile here is the new retroarch addon release (WIP) just for RPi, tested on LE9: game.retroarch-8.176.13.zip

nope, no dolphin addon, just retroarch addon, or if you have a RPi2/3 also PPSSPP and NDS addons.
tested by myself, IAGL works pretty nice with Gamestarter's Retroarch addon in LibreELEC 9.
After installing Retroarch I suggest a first run to set it up (and check downloaded cores), then, back in kodi, go to IAGL's settings > Wizard tab.
Select "external" as launcher emulator, and then execute wizard and follow the steps.
Pick "Gamestarter Addon" from the list and, if asked, select retroarch path "/.kodi/addons/game.retroarch/"
Then you can launch IAGL and pick the game you want and launch/download it like a charm.
*When in a list you can use context menu to edit launcher command and change default core/emulator per system.

So, dualshock 3/sixaxis controllers do work in LE9. BUT if you want so you need to use another config file for controllers as we discuss in this github issue

As we have discussed in github, DualShock 3 works ok (it is the controller I use in my RPi2) in LE9, the problem is when you try to connect a second DS3... Since I just have one of those (the rest of controllers I use are DS4) I can not try it by myself and I told you all solutions I would try with no luck... maybe another user over here can try it.

I just updated and tried it.
First try, Retroarch addon works ok, I can load roms and play it as usual.
Then I go back to kodi and launched a game with AEL, it worked ok too.

You can rename it, or change file path within retroarch settings.
When I did the script PSP core was so laggy so I used PPSSPP emulator. So if the script recognizes that you want to launch a psp game it tries to launch standalone emulator... this is a bug in my code, sorry guys... I really don't use my Pi for emulation since I use My PSVITA so I really don't know when I will solve it... but if this workaround works it is nice!
ok, since it doesn´t even try to launch retroarch it seems it is something related with ES and core name or path.... I can be that ES wants to launch standalone PPSSPP emulator instead libretro core...
you can try this little hack, rename your psp core filename to psp_libretro.so then edit your es_systems.cfg file and change back the 144 line
to
<command>/storage/.kodi/addons/game.retroarch/addon.start psp %ROM% ES</command>
Also you can go back to ppsspp line in es_systems and try using PPSSPP standalone emulator, by the way PPSSPP standalone used to had better performance
