Kore doesn't use CEC, so it's a workaround. So how does it fix that for you?
It´s a workaround indeed. Sending just one command with Kore reenables the remote until the next time I turn off the TV.

I think we are experiencing a similar issue.
I´m not sure. I my case it happens every time I turn off the TV and I am always able to fix it by using Kore. Your ptoblem seems more erratic.

When I turn off the TV a single line appears in the log file:ERROR: OnTvStandby - Unexpected [standby_pc_on_tv_standby] setting value
The error message ended up being a red herring: it appears when the CEC plugin is set to "Ignore" (LOCALISED_ID_IGNORE) "When the TV is switched off" (standby_pc_on_tv_standby)
Any other setting makes the messaage dissappear but the problem with the remote remains.
I have been using libreelec on my RPI2/Philips TV with the TV's remote control for some time.
Everything worked fine until 7.90.009. From that version on, if I turn off the TV I cannot operate Kodi using the remote when I turn it back on.
I can make the remote work again if I use a remote app on my phone, such as Kore, to send just one command to Kodi. After that the remote works again as long as I don´t turn off the TV.
When I turn off the TV a single line appears in the log file:
ERROR: OnTvStandby - Unexpected [standby_pc_on_tv_standby] setting value
Nothing appears in the log file when I revive the remote using Kore.
Is there anything I can do to help diagnose the problem? It happens every time I turn off the TV.
