I wouldn't know, I don't use IARL or retroplayer for that matter. I do know that retroarch is not used though, retroplayer simply loads the libretro cores inside Kodi. Which is where it fails to begin with if you ask me, as I can't imagine Kodi as fat as it is will offer the same low inputlag as standalone retroarch running with KMS. This is purely speculation from me though, so feel free to prove me wrong.

If you want retroplayer, why not keep using lrusak's builds? i prefer standalone emulators for reasons listed in the first post. As for the system partition size, it's already 512MB default in LE. If you come from an older OE release you should back up, wipe your disk and re-install. My image is larger than a regular image because of the added emulators and cores.

Not without building.

libvorbis is now linked statically, so you will need to recompile retroarch or copy over the shared library from somewhere else.

Any PC does that.

It's a RPi3, mine shows ARMv7 as well it's normal. I believe it's identified as such because it's not running in 64 bit mode.

Apparently the mainline Kodi version in 7.90.002 does not recognize the mvc tag, so rename to sbs and it should work.

Like I said, you need to clean it including the build stamps (scripts/clean).

Basically, you are complaining about an unconfirmed bug in the Linux kernel not getting fixed in the wrong forum. Suspend/resume works perfect for me on two different platforms. The 4.4 kernel included in LE7 is the latest LTS (long term support) stable version. LE is a pretty vanilla Linux distribution, 99% of the software included is developed elsewhere.
As for my suggestion to try the alpha, it's simply an easy way for you to confirm if there's a difference between 4.4 and 4.6. Even if it's an alpha, I think you'll find it's perfectly stable. The core OS is not much different from LE7, it's just the Kodi version that's bleeding edge. I've been using Krypton for the last month and it's 100% stable for me. Of course if you'd rather use Kodi 16 simply downgrade after you've tested.

Drivers are in the kernel, LibreELEC have no kernel developers. They use the upstream Linux kernel with a minimal set of patches, so that's where you should report any bugs.
I recommend trying out the latest alpha which uses the 4.6 kernel and thus have the most up to date driver.

That goes for any package, you need to clean it after building. There's a stamp that decides whether the package should be built or not.

My vote is for the NUC as well. I've had my haswell i5 for well over a year now and it just performs so well as a HTPC, even got some horsepower for emulators on top. It's small, quiet, looks good and is somewhat expandable.

New builds have experimental CEC support for Emulationstation.

I've added an "RPi3" build with specific compiler optimizations. No noticeable difference, but perhaps someone would like to benchmark.

Here you go, fixed up the package for ya
Haven't tested it but it compiles and packages up just fine. If you're compiling the addon for LE 7 just change PKG_ADDON_REPOVERSION="8.0" to 7.0.
