Keep an ssh terminal open running "tail -f /storage/.kodi/temp/kodi.log & journalctl -f" to look for clues when it's freezing.

"input_driver = udev" is the default setting look at /etc/retroarch.cfg.

KMS is the best, then GL. There's a thread over at the libretro forums about input lag, I've adapted the best settings in this build (just enable KMS as described on first page). Vulkan is currently lagging behind, I wouldn't use it for anything just yet.

http://Youtube.com/tv doesn't work without pulseaudio. Hard to say if that goes for other sites, as I don't know why it needs pulseaudio in the first place. So far I haven't found a way to work around it. I really hate pulseaudio, since it was introduced to Linux it has caused me a lot of grief.

You're on your own regarding controller configuration. There isn't a universal tool to configure all the apps, you'll need to dig into each respective documentation. FS-UAE can be configured through the Launcher (not included in this build), Emulationstation can be configured through the menus.
Probably simplest to just don't use pulse.

Name them disk1.adf disk2.adf etc and put them in a zip. JIT is only for OS level stuff, won't make games faster. Try "video_format = rgb565" in /storage/.config/fs-uae/Configurations/Default.fs-uae. Still not fast enough, try accuracy=0.

Try setting "keep audio device alive" to off in system audio settings.

It doesn't compile I've tried. They forked an older version and hacked it together to compile in their environment as they do with many others. I prefer to include up to date and well maintained emulators.

I'd put my money on the "Dynamic Power Technology" option. There are known freezing issues with the p-state driver.

Actually I didn't notice my naming convention was broken by the removal of "devel" in master, next build will be usual name with date. The version number is used in the toolchain and directories so didn't want to do a full rebuild to fix it. Let's call it a beta celebration build
Is there a well maintained emulator for it?

Yes it's confusing that there are no navigation sounds when using a gamepad
As for sound in emulators, you should create an asound.conf as described on first page. It'll be used for anything outside of Kodi.
