I am streaming over the LAN and already tried changing the ports and cables. The same DVDs can stream normally to my Windows PC, again using Kodi with no issues. I seem to be getting the same cache drain issue when I stream to my OpenElec Rpi2 box which is consistent with the 100Mbit and relatively small RAM pool being the root cause. however I see advancedsettings.xml have no impact whatsoever regardless of what values I put in there for cache.

I tried the LE 7.9 alpha and the buffering was not seen in Kodi 17 there however video playback was very poor and the sound would disappear after a few seconds of play time.

my LE s905 7.0.3 box is somehow managing to stop for buffering every minute or so while straming Bly Ray from my local NAS

I noticed that cache settings have no impact on the behaviour and only found this article Can kodi V15.1 change video cache setting using advancedsettings.xml? that describes something similar.

has anyone encountered a similar problem and if yes how did you work around it ?

I can play the same files from the PC normally(kodi on windows no buffering issues) over the same LAN, even though the PC has a Gigabit port and the LE Box is 100Mbit the traffic from the NAS side is not peaking over 50-60Mbit

does anyone know if the advancedsettings.xml file is getting parsed at all

I am having buffering issues while playing large blu ray disks from a NAS(smb)over the network and trying to paly with the cache settings to battle the buffering issues however no matter how much memory I set for cache I am not seeing kodi use more RAM
