have now re-scanned the library from scratch and 9.2.0 works as it should.

OK. Did a little more work on this.
Works fine if the database is local but fails if it is remote.
Upgraded MySQL to 5.7 but it is still the same.

I did a fresh install that worked as it should do, but restoring the backedup settings broke it.
So I guess I will run with down-level s/w or install from scratch.

I tested this with a local database and it still fails

I tried MySQL56 and it was the same.
I am using default values for those settings. It is working fine in 9.0.2 !
From the log I can see that the "Watched Status" is written to the DB but the status does not change in the Kodi gui.
I will try to test it with a local database

I did already but had no response

After upgrading to 9.2 the watched status is not updated when a video is viewed.
Set the video to unwatched via the context menu
Play the video (from NAS via NFS)
Seek to the end of the video.
The playback ends but "watched" is not set. (it works on 9.0.2)
If playback is ended near the end of the video then "watched" is set
Resume points are set as usual
Database is on MySQL55.
