Pelican, are you trying a clean install?
I had that too.
Create a clean SD without a device tree, I couldn't get mine to work when I used a device tree.
Sadly changing resolution didn't help. I only see this problem on SD channels. They are 25FPS, though, so I don't think they are interlaced.
I tried going down to 720p for the GUI with the same result.
Disabling hardware acceleration did fix it, but it's a pain in the rear, as I'd have to enable it when I watch non-IPTV content.
Thanks for the tip, I'll see if lowering the GUI to 1080p will fix this problem.
The GUI will be slow using 4K. Box hardware isn't strong enough to deal with 4K. Even at 1080p it's a bit sluggish.
Box specs needs to render all the animations. Kodi skins can be heavy.
If you want smooth GUI buy a powerful box with strong Intel chip and Windows.
I disagree. With 'J' (and 'G' before it) the GUI with the default Kodi skin is just fine. I have had this box for 4 months and it is always set to [email protected]
I could probably live with GUI being run at 1080P, but the other issues with playing 4K content is something I can't live with. It could be my particular box, though.
To be honest I was happy with 'G', but wanted to fix the stuttering channels in Live TV.
I switched from 8.0.1j so I had to.
I managed to get it to work as a clean install, thanks. But sadly the GUI is dog slow when set to [email protected], it feels and behaves like it's 30Hz.
And there are still weird problems with playback when the box is outputting [email protected], the videos look like what you see when you fast forward a VHS tape, only worse.
I was able to watch 25FPS content before, now can't, with the same issue.
Sadly, I'm going to go back to 'J' and live with the judder-y channels.
I may give LE 8 a shot sometime later, maybe it'll work better.
I'll give it a shot if all else fails. I made a backup of my settings.
Did you do a clean install on the SD card? Because I tried to use the update process, from an earlier version.
I had the same issue first time round so I tried again and left the original device tree and then it worked.
First time around I forgot to put the device tree and had the same result. Then I tried with the new device tree.
Then I used J with the device tree and it works again.
Should I maybe reboot the box if it fails to start up the first time? Maybe HDMI subsampling needs to be off for this newer build... *shrug* I'll do some more testing later, thanks for the input.
Sadly this is what I get on my display with 'K', downgraded to 'J' and all is fine. I first get the normal LibreELEC logo, and this appears when it tries to start Kodi.
I still have access to the box through SSH.
Made sure to also put the gxl_p212_2g.dtb file in the update folder.
Box: Sunvell T95M
TV: Vizio M60-D1
Does anyone have a suggestion on what I could do to get it to work? I have a bunch of TV channel all "jerky" and I was hoping to use "K" to fix this problem.
Great news! I noticed frame skips on some new channels on my live tv, and it's not there on my S812 which upgraded itself to LE8.
Thank you and everyone else who contributes their time and effort to this project.
I've noticed this on the older build I had, but the problem remains on the new build as well.
I have a M8S+, 2G/8GB, and after it starts one core is always at 100% load. This makes the box slower than it can be and also heats up the CPU quite a bit.
The process that causes this is 'brcm_patch+', I assume that it's a patch for wifi.
Is it possible to fix this or add a watchdog for this process to be killed off automatically? I can kill it from the terminal and everything works fine until the next reboot.
While watching a Live IPTV stream after I kill the process:
Might be a silly question, but please bear with me.
I had LibreELEC-Amlogic.arm-M8SPlus-7.0.2 by alex on my MS8+ for quite some time. A few days ago it showed a popup that an update was available.
Today I restarted the box and it automatically installed LE 8.0.1. Is it this build or something else? I was under the impression that Alex is no longer making new builds for the S812 boxes.
I'm just wondering how did this automatic update happen?
This is great.
I just received the USB 1gbps Ethernet adapter, as the built in 100M on S905X boxes just doesn't cut it for high bitrate 4K and HDR content.
It doesn't work in Android, but LE picked it up without a hitch. Getting good enough speeds for 4K and HDR content (about 120-130mbps from NFS shares), and so there's no more buffering.
In case anyone is wondering, this is the adapter I bought. I'm not sure if the other 'kind' of ebay cheapies will do the job or not.
USB 3.0 to 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit RJ45 Ethernet LAN Wired Network Card Adapter | eBay
Some of them have 5ghz wifi, some even support 802.11AC
Does anyone no how to fix a issue where playback is zoomed on the top left of the image?

When I had that problem resetting LE from System --> LibreELEC --> Reset solved it for me, but then I had to reconfigure everything from scratch again.
Edit: Please disregard.
