Dear all,
thanks for this nice addon! Hopefully you can help me - as I am new to Libreelec/kodiand really want to run librespot!
i currently installed librespot (110 version) on my Kodi(Krypton) pi3 mediacenter. However, it is not listed in the list of available devices in the android app nor i-phone app.
I installed the add-on with the default properties (also changes in the properties didn't worked out for me) and allowed other instances to remote control kodi. Do I miss something?
Thanks in advance!
P.
Without a log I can only guess:
- are Librespot and the Spotify app on the same subnet?
- is Avahi enabled in Settings/LibreELEC/Services?
- Is Wait for network before starting Kodi enabled in Settings/LibreELEC/Network?
To get a log, type journalctl -u service.librespot at the console.
-
I am running a stable wired connection and ran with the addon for months without issues. Maybe it's really the Kodi alpha version. Where can I find log files to investigate further?
journalctl -u service.librespot

Hi, I recently run into the problem with librespot being unavailable after some random amount of time. Going to Addons->Librespot and either changing any configuration or updating it (to the same version) seems to restart the service and fix the problem.
Since I have auto update on for the whole system, I can't really tell what is causing this (libreelec, librespot or any other addon). Is anyone else experiencing this issue?
Network error handling in librespot is still rather rudementary and being worked on. Use the stablest network connection available, wited for example.

Here are previews of Snapclient/Snapserver for LibreELEC 9.0 for RPi2/3 that support streaming from Kodi.
To stream from Kodi:
- In
Add-ons/My add-ons/Services/Snapserver/Configure
setPreset
toKodi
- In
Settings/System/Audio
setAudio output device
toPULSE: Default
orPULSE: Linux FIFO sink /tmp/snapfifo
- In
Add-ons/My add-ons/Services/Snapclient/Configure
increaseLatency
(600
somehow works here, your mileage may vary) in order to (attempt to) synchronise audio and video; this must be done for all Snapclients
Remarks:
- Sound quality feels inferior
- Boot time feels longer
- In
-
Please describe what you are trying to do, and what you have done up to now
-
I could reproduce, but could not fix yet.

Is it possible to stream the music, that Kodi is playing? without AirPlay and Spotify
Then you can use Kodi as a music server
It is possible, but configuration is tedious.
-
I will have a look at it this week-end

Librespot is working great since the last update. Thanks!
However, I'm wondering how I can get rid of the gap/pause between songs. Some albums are based around songs flowing from one into another, and it's kind of disturbing to suddenly have a few seconds of silence...
This a known limitation of librespot.

Thanks for that, however this is what's happening to me:
Code

How can I debug what's wrong?
That mentions a DNS error.
Have you tried Settings/LibreELEC/Network/Wait for network before starting Kodi?

Hi awiouy, first of all - thank you for your work on the addon!
As you mentioned, 109 is now outdated, and 110 has not been built yet for LE9. I'm an avid user, so I went to figure out how to configure build env, but I'm afraid I can't meet the requirements right now (decent CPU, 4 GB RAM, 20-25 GB SSD, Linux installed). If you have the build env ready, would you care to build the plugin for us, RPi2 users, and provide it here?
I'm sure I'm not the only one who would be most grateful

Download Loop with the Addon Timer...
in some posts i have read that when i will stop the "on-aktive" download function so i have to clear the field.
But LibreElec doesn't acept a blank filed, when i give the value 0 the download will start every boot.
So i have edit the value in the file: .kodi/userdata/addon_data/service.webgrabplus/settings.xml
In this case the addon takes the value automatic to 300 *wtf*
How can i deactivate the function "on-aktive" for all cases?
Than my WebGrab Config has to upgrade 93 chanels for the next 6 days the runtime is 2 hours and is enought when
this job runs every 24 hours.
Let me guess: LibreELEC 9.0?
Manually edit /storage/.kodi/addons/service.webgrabplus/settings.xml

I like and use the librespot addon often.
Recently I changed the libreelec Version on my M8spro+ Android box and installed 8.90.4 (9.0).
The librespot Version from Libreelec repo is 9.0.1.109
But this Version does not work anymore. It is seen as available device if I start Spotify on my handy. It tries to connect for some seconds but doesn´t.
In kodi.log it says that it can not load value="hdmi:CARD=AMLM8AUDIO,DEV=0"
WARNING: CAddonSettings[service.librespot]: failed to load value "hdmi:CARD=AMLM8AUDIO,DEV=0" for setting ls_o
So I went back to version 8.2.110 from backup. This version is still doing the job!
this is my alsa device :

Can you fix this please.
Addon revision 109 is outdated and does not work anymore. Addon revision has been merged but not built yet for LibreELEC 9.0. You have several options: wait for revision 110 on LibreELEC 9.0, downgrade to LibreELEC 8.2, or build the addon yourself.

For who is interested: Snapcast!
-
Hello Anton, thanks for your help. But i still only see Verion 9.0.107.
Check for updates in addon manager
-
Snapcast is available from the LibreELEC Add-ons repository. Install the Snapserver addon on one system and the Snapclient addon on all systems which should play. Then use AirPlay to stream to Snapcast.
By default, the Snapserver addon is configured to stream AirPlay, but it can be configured to stream Spotify. Streaming Spotify requires that the Librespot addon is installed on the system which runs the Snapserver addon.

Hi,
Stupid question maybe:
Is it possible to change the displayed name in Spotify Connect to just display the name of the Kodi installationNow it is 'Librespot@KODI' but i would like it to just display 'KODI'
Thanks in advance
You can change that line in /storage/.kodi/addons/service.librespot/bin/librespot.start, but I will not update the addon (render unto Librespot the things that are Librespot's)
