I got a Mecool K1 Pro (s905D) running this LibreELEC on a usb stick on first try, but how do I get the DVB-S2 Tuner to work?
I've been reading for hours and can't find anything about it despite some comments on how good it works.
Can anybody give me a hint?

Can confirm that HW encoding is not working, for any codec.
Now I attached my wifi stick and the file copy is ~9MB/s
and now I can play 4K HDR content properly
still don't know why my download speed (30 Mbit/s) is so slow on wired connection when my upload is ok (90+ Mbit/s)
maybe the driver has some bug ?
could be a bad cable;)
I never mentioned that I using Gbit connection
my box (Mecool M8S Pro+) only has a 100 Mbit interface, but that should be enough for all regular 4K content.
My main concern why I got only around 30 Mbit speed ?
If you do a windows file copy of a big file from the windows pc to your box, at what speed dose windows copy the file?

It's (smb) like an old diesel, it works, but you'l always be driving in the slow lane;)
My movie bitrate ~65mbits
SMB host has Gbit net
NFS host(NAS) has bonded dual Gbit net
My conclusion:
Network protocol is very important if You want to play high bitrate video

Just connected the internal Ethernet on my NEXBOX, and as long as the bitrate doesn't stay above 40mbits to long, I have no problem playing 4k HDR files. (the host has Gbit net)

</cache>I guess you have a 1 Gbit interface on your box otherwise the jelly demo wont be smooth on a 100 Mbit interface
Well, Yes... The MeCool has an internal Gbit, and on my NEXBOX i've got a cheep usb Gbit... So what i missed is that you want to play UHD with Mbit.... Well good luck with that:)

WIN 10 share connection isn´t working(most cases) if You try to play 4k videos - I can confirm it´s not working
You have to attach local HDD/SSD or an NAS using NFS protocol - I can confirm it works
Am I missing somthing her??? I have no problem playing 4k from windows sharer. I can even play the jellyfish demo at 140mbps 4k 10bit hdr.
Display MoreHello kszaq . So I have tried the 4K in 444,10bit mode. It seems to work correctly, but I have found an issue wth 3D movies. If the video output is set to 4k, also the HD movies are played in 4k (upscaled), including the 3D. I am not sure what Libreelec output then but I don't get any image from my projector.
There is some video info on the HDMI, in fact there is no "No Input" alert which comes when you have a wrong format (or problem with the cable).
The video format is detected as 4k (3960x2160) 59.94Hz (which is my GUI setting, strange for a video playback) but the screen is blue, but the blue comes from the projector no video color (in fact it follows the color for the no video background I set), so it is like there is no valid video data but a valid video info. The audio is present also, so the playback is active in Libreelec. And Libreelec is full functional, because I can stop the playback with the remote (knowing the button combination) and I come back to the GUI, correctly displayed, and I can start another playback, of another file, with no issue

Unfortunately I don't have other 4k Libreelec compatible device, to check if the problem is in Libreelec or the amlogic part

yes i have nexbox S905X 1g 8g. I use device tree of S905X(Gxl p212 1g.dtb). I used this device tree to all previous builds but no problem exists. This is first time I experience this type of problem?
Just tested it on a Nexbox, and can confirm that there is something wrong with the img file.
I replace correct dtb (http://sx05.eu/s905/8.2/device_trees)but still stuck in boot?
Are you shure it's the right one? What type of box do you have, and which device tree did you use?
I write this build (LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.90.9K.img.gz)
on my sd card through Rufus( clean install) but stuck in boot screen. After that I again install Adamg build and update ur tar build (LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.90.9K.tar) file and system running successfully. How to clean install ur build (LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.90.9K.img.gz)
Replace the dtb.img on the sd card with the right one;)
Display MoreI've found the source of my problems. It was not the cable but my AVR.
It can passthrough the 4k HDMI signal, but 10 bit and/or HDR is too much for it (only HDMI 2.0 inputs and output).
If I directly connect the box to the tv then the tv reports HDR and BT2020 correctly.
Unfortunately the tv cannot handle HD audio, so I have to think how can I solve this.
I tried a HDMI splitter but that works with fullhd signal only.
It seems I have to change my AVR.
Have you tried ARC? Your TV can send the incommoding audio out through another HDMI port to your AVR.;)
When I press the "Info" button on the remote of my UH6100 it indicate BT.2020 on my HDR content and nothing on my SDR content. So I presume if it is not specified BT.2020, it's BT.709.
If I put the "echo 444,10bit ..." command in the autostart, 4k SDR and HDR contents is BT.2020. Personnally I don't like BT.2020 colorspace on non BT.2020 contents, color is too saturate... I test it a lot of time.
By running Kodi in 2160p and 444 10bit, I have the same picture settings on my TV for HDR and SDR, accept for the color saturation, this is about 10 clicks higher on HDR. And if your TV is adjusted right, you'l see that HDR is overrated;)
But if i set Kodi to 1080p, there is no way I can get the same picture as with 2160p on 1080p content, But this might have something to do with the way my TV handles UHD and HD.
And since my TV has different profiles for HDR and SDR, the settings are applied automatic when changing source between HDR and SDR:)
If I set it to 444,10bit then no picture (or green picture with LE7).
LG 2017 model 60SJ810V (4k, HDR)
It was the same with the previous Philips 2014 4k tv.
If I play a HDR file like this from an USB drive with the tv itself, then it shows BT.2020 and HDR.
Have you tried a better HDMI cable?
