Hello, I don't mean to thread hijack but I am having the exact same problem. I tried running getedid create from an SSH session and rebooted and got the following error message:

    A start job is running for Xorg Server (x / 1min 30sec)
[FAILED] Failed to start Xorg Server.
See 'systemctl status xorg.service' for details
[DEPEND] Dependency failed for Fluxbox Window Manager.

And then kodi does not start. So I went on the nvidia tab of the link and tried to the steps by individually as outlined:

    grep ": connected" /var/log/Xorg.0.log | head -n 1
    (--) NVIDIA(GPU-0): Pioneer Electronic Corporation SC-25 (DFP-1): connected

    nvidia-xconfig --extract-edids-from-file=/var/log/Xorg.0.l og --extract-edids-output-file=/storage/.config/edid.bin
    Found 0 EDIDs in "/var/log/Xorg.0.log".

So I noticed that there is no edid.bin created either by the script or when i did the steps myself. Is this why it is hanging? Am I doing something wrong?

I am running LE 8.0.1 on a VM on unRaid so Libreelec never turns off or shuts down, on the TV/AVR does. Not sure if this changes anything.

Yeah, you can't even begin to troubleshoot anything until you take case of that cabling mess.

Well. Good quality cable going straight through to AVR seems to have done the trick. Everything working great 60hz and 24hz switching great. Getting perfect pass through audio as well so I am a happy camper.

Moral of the story. Good cable going though the fewest number of devices possible. thanks to everyone for the suggestions.

This could also be related to the HDMI cable.
How long is the cable which you are using.

for long cables (around 10m) you need to make sure that it is a good cable with more thick wires inside or else it will not work correctly at 1080p.

I am going to replace the cable. Right now I have 2 cables running through a coupler that then goes to a monoprice HDMI switch that then goes to my AVR and then to the TV. So yes , less than ideal. I just bought a good quality 20ft cable and will run it straight into the AVR and I will report back.

I found that 1080i is also working. I also connected a different tv straight into the same machine and it worked fine so I suspect either the cable setup is bad or there is something with my TV. Thanks for the suggestions.

    I just installed 7 v7.90.010. I have an nvidia 1050ti connected to a a Pioneer PRO-151FD TV.

The UI defaults to 720P and works fine but has severe overscan. When I try to change the resolution to 1080P 60Hz, the UI shows up and disappears and then comes back and keeps disappearing and flickering, or sometimes does not show up at all.

However, when I set the refresh rate to 1080P @ 24hz, everything seems to work fine.

    Here is my xrand output:

    Screen 0: minimum 8 x 8, current 1920 x 1080, maximum 32767 x 32767
DVI-D-0 disconnected primary (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
    HDMI-0 connected 1920x1080+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 1102mm x 620mm
    1920x1080 60.00*+ 59.94 23.97 60.05 60.00
    2880x480 59.94 60.05
    1440x480 59.94
    1280x1024 60.02
    1280x720 59.94
    1024x768 60.00
    800x600 60.32
    720x480 59.94
    640x480 59.94 59.93
DP-0 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
DP-1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)

does anyone have any idea where I should begin to troubleshoot? I would like 60hz to work for when i watch TV shows, and 24HZ to work when I watch movies.

I have download the latest generic build 7.90.009. I am wondering if the Nvidia GeForce 1050ti is supported in this release?

It seems to boot fine but then I am getting this message:

failed to start xorg server and a dependency not met.

Is this because the video card is too new? Thank you.

I am running this inside a linux VM on an unraid system if that changes anything.

    Thank you.
