    MiniM8sPro S905 2gb/8gb
Following my Bizzare testing results link    #145

    I updated to LibreELEC-S905.aarch64-7.0-devel-20161212221553-r23560-g512a087.img
    (from LibreELEC-S905.aarch64-7.0-devel-20161212161011-r23559-gd4fc4f6.img)

I now can report that this version displays the same results on both my box and my friends identical box.
The boot ups are now 90% working. Randomly the box will freeze and a cold boot will bring it up. Both identical boxes, same behaviour.
It is now a rare freeze whereas before it was happening 50% percent of the time as on my friends box and only 20% on my identical box.
Nearly there is what i call it. ;)

After installing the .010 version when I turn off my Beelink Mini MX III, restarting it stays in the Beelink logo and will not boot. If I remove the Ethernet cable, sometimes it starts, but often not. I have reinstalled the 009 and everything returns to normal. What can I do to make the 010 work well?
    Thank you

Get into the habit of disclosing your box like this: Beelink MiniMXIII S905 2G/16G 100M Lan
If this is wrong ? Let us know.
This issue seems do be predominately if not all related to S905 Chips. :)

Im thinking of buying the Tanix TX3 Pro s905X, but some people here are saying there are problems with the remote. Can anyone confirm that LE works 100% on this box with zero issues?

Also does that box use decent hardware inside like samsung ram etc? Or is it no name crap that will die in 6 months.
    Thanks.

You will soon work out why this thread is a waste of time and can be misleading.

I would say this has fixed the boot up freezing after over 25 re boots and power off the box only froze 4 times.
A cold boot always booted back up.
I would probably call this a Fairyfly and not a Bug ;)

Edit: I had 3 freezes in a row from power on. One from cold boot.
I would say the Fairyfly might be a Bug

Three power off and then on went fine after that.

EDIT: I resumed my on off reboot testing and spent 40 Minutes just re booting and powering off with the remote and no Freezing after about 80 on off and reboots. YES 80 TIMES BEFORE I GOT THE FREEZE.
I cold booted and it booted fine.
Did 3 more without a problem.
I think i'm done for now. This is either fixed or it is a bug. I'm not so sure after what i have gone through.

My box did this once when re booting, See screenshot.

EDIT: This is getting stranger by the minute.

I just had a friend who has the identical box. Same hardware same time purchased together and all identical LE updates performed have always been the same results EXCEPT this one.

He dropped his box off to me and i updated it from 19th November Dev build. Exactly what i did with my box.

The 19th Dev Build boots up perfect on my and his box.
I have just spent over half an hour trying to get his identical MiniM8sPro S905 2gb/8gb to boot with some consistency or at least the same consistency as my identical box.
His box would be lucky to re boot 1 out of 5 attempts. It just freezes on Boot up animation. Really bad results. After half an hour of trying we gave up. It just freezes.
I then updated using the 19th November Dev build with 6th November device tree and rebooted after update and no problems.
    Works perfect with this version.
I then created a Fresh SD Card 12th December version with 9th December Device tree and toothpicked.
Booted up first time after install. After that it was all the same behaviour as internal install on his box.
Two of the same identical boxes with two different behaviours with the same LE Version.

I think I'm done for now.

Last EDIT I tried one last time using #57 method to install DTB manually.
    LibreELEC (community) Version: devel-20161212161011-r23559-gd4fc4f6
    LibreELEC git: d4fc4f6831ab914c874bc4731d15d3360af33f8f
    LibreELEC:~ # dd if=/storage/backup/dtb.img of=/dev/dtb bs=256k
    0+1 records in
    0+1 records out
    38408 bytes (37.5KB) copied, 0.009089 seconds, 4.0MB/s

Still box kept freezing on boot animation.
So that did not work either.

The signature is that if you reboot, occasionally the driver will not start; you must (effectively) stop & restart the driver by disable/re-enable of the WiFi in the LE Settings - so you are saying this happens also with the Qualcomm driver used in your TX5? (it apparently uses the AP6255)
    The good news is it is, at worst, a 'nuisance' rather than a show-stopper, where all you have to do is toggle the WiFi;
Weird one though if indeed also happening with other driver

See link regarding my box and the issues with Chinese Boxes using different Hardware on a box with a Generic Brand Name.
I keep banging on about members not disclosing their chips as S905 OR S905X , as a model is less important (although it should be disclosed)
    than the hardware.
I hope this eventually gets through to members. ;)

Drivers for Aigaile WiFi need to be loaded in autostart.sh by adding the following lines:

    Code
    insmod /lib/modules/qca9377-aml/compat.ko
    mount -o bind /lib/modules/qca9377-aml/cfg80211.ko /lib/modules/3.14.29/kernel/net/wireless/cfg80211.ko
    mount -o bind /lib/modules/qca9377-aml/wlan.ko /lib/modules/3.14.29/kernel/drivers/amlogic/wifi/bcmdhd/dhd.ko

kszaq Is this the same code for the below Qualcom wifi module ?

THAT is old news - the Aigale WiFi code is now included directly in the image and no additional amendment to the autostart.sh is required
See the note by kszaq in the opening post of this thread however - OCCASIONALLY (not always) after a reboot (or power up) it may require the WiFi to be disabled/re-enabled to start the driver.

It has been happening with Qualcomm Wifi module in my TX5 Pro S905x 2GB/16GB so i don't believe it is Aigale related.
    Just letting you know.

Can my information help somehow maybe?

Please list your chip S905 OR S905X because just naming these chinese boxes with a chinese name branding will confuse members.
Always disclose your chip because the chip and ethernet speed are the most important specs.
This Bootup Freeze seems to be an issue with the S905 Chip and not with the S905x . :)

If another S905X box will help you fine tune even better support, then I will donate one of this to you:

Is anyone with booting issues able to grab me a log over serial console?

Is this something i can do using "Terminal" to issue commands on Mac ?
That's all i've got except an old MacMini with Bootcamp Windows 7 that i don't use unless i have to.

The change was made on 2nd December, it was only present in dev build(s) that came after: https://github.com/kszaq/LibreELEC.tv/co...ffe01b7aa7

Just confirming and making the point that with [ LibreELEC-S905.aarch64-7.0-devel-20161119092613-r23439-gc23e2fb.img.gz ]
    No booting issues at all.
The issue of random freezing started with [ LibreELEC-S905.aarch64-7.0-devel-20161129232917-r23467-gdee7939.img.gz ]

The issue of Full Freezing at boot happened with [ LibreELEC-S905.aarch64-7.0-devel-20161202213923-r23473-g8a53869.img ]

I used the LibreELEC-S905.aarch64-7.0.3.010-USB-Revert.img.gz no device tree added.
into the Update Folder and rebooted but i don't know if the update really flashed.
    See screenshot as well.
    Same random freezes.

    What a Nightmare
I just found out from our Russian Friends at 4pda.ru
    There are 3 Different wifi modules for the TX5Pro : Qualcomm QCA9377 or QCA1023, Ampak AP6255 or Fn-Link 8223A
    Instructions below link.
    Check your module Tanix TX1 /TX3 / TX3 Pro / TX5 / TX5 Pro [Android] - 4PDA
    Command dmesg | grep -i 9377
You will get something like what i got below. :D

Mini M8s Pro S905 (2GB /8GB Realtek wifi fix trees always used)

Updaded from 19th November Dev Build to
    7.0.3.010 64bit Device Tree gxbb_p200_2G_100M_RealtekWiFi.dtb (09-Dec-2016 08:59 38408)

    (1) 1st boot up after update froze on boot up animation
    (2) Cold boot Box booted up.
    (3) Reboot from Power menu 2 times Booted no issue.
    (4) Reboot 3rd time It froze again.
    (5) Cold Boot Booted Up
    (6) Reboot Froze first time
    (7) Cold Boot froze immediately
    (8) Cold Boot froze immediately
    (9) Cold Boot Booted up normal
    (10) Power off menu Froze on Bootup Logo
    (11) Cold Boot Booted up normal
    (12) Powered off from remote control, Powered on Booted normal
    (13) Powered on from remote Froze on Bootup Logo

Conclusion: No consistency as far as what causes the Bootup Freeze during Cold Boot, Reboot or Power On.
The box either Boots or it doesn't using all the above exits from LE.

Theres something strange wth thiis build it fails to boot up correctly but if you pull the power once or twice it then boots into LibreElec correctly. But if you reboot again the same issue happens. I am running from SD card.

Upgraded from 7.2.009 usiing samaba method, device tree also updated. This is on a S905 . MiniMX v1 , 26/16G using device tree   gxbb_p200_2G_1Gbit.dtb .

Once booted up correctly the build seems to work fine, playbac etc all seemed OK. Buit the failing to boot issue is annooying, cant keep pulling out the power to get it to boot up..

There seems to be issues with device trees after the 19th November Dev builds for S905 chips.
    See link #532

I found Dev Version 29th November on my Mac (LibreELEC-S905.aarch64-7.0-devel-20161129232917-r23467-gdee7939.img)
Updated to it and it worked.
The bad news is i have Random Boot Animation Freezes after power off and worse on Reboot from power menu.
So it seems this issue must have started with the 29th November and got worse with the 2nd December version just freezing on boot Animation.
I then went back to 19th November Dev version and cannot get a freeze even after 10 reboots and power off.
Mini M8s Pro S905 (2GB /8GB Realtek wifi fix trees always used)

So that is where i am at.

Try to boot without hdmi cable plugged in. 30sec. later connect hdmi cable. I had problems too, I'm on 4k resolution, mabey that is problem...

    I dont have 4k .
The box is failing to boot. It is not on my network. It is not booting to LE.
The HDMI is only showing what the box is outputting.
I tried what you suggested but no Dice.

kostaman There were no changes in device trees since 7.0.2.009. If you perform an update without dropping a device tree in Update folder, /dev/dtb partition is untouched.

Updated this time with the device tree included in the update folder.
Re Booted and again froze on Bootup Animation .
Box is un responsive to power off via remote and is not showing on my network.
I am stumped. Never had this before.
UPDATE: I re inserted the SD Card with 19th November version and it booted fine,
Reboot , Power off 4 times and it works off the SD Card.
I chose reboot to Nand from power menu and it froze on boot up animation.

Something has gone wrong with device tree during update.

UPDATE: I tried for the sake of trying by downgraded from 19th November to 009. (No device tree used in update folder)
    It worked and no freezes,
I then tried to UPDATE from .009 to the 2nd December Dev version but same freeze on Boot Animation.
