Next tried booting with Ethernet disconnected:
    This time it had the same situation as per the earlier fix, where no connections were available and I had to toggle to Wifi Off/On in order to start it;
    then was able to connect.

    TX5 Pro with Qualcomm QCA9377
    7.0.3.012e

For me i had the same results as you EXCEPT
I reconnected the Ethernet - the Wifi did drop.

DEcosse can you disclose your Box/Chip. Hard to follow which Wifi chip you have without going back looking for your posts. :)
    I think you have Aigale.

If the box doesn't have eMMC, what would it have? Are the 2 choices eMMC and NAND??
What are the differences between the 2?

sd card - SSD, SD, eMMC, Raw NAND what are the differences? - Super User

I know eMMC and the standard Nand used in older Boxes like my old MXQ S805 are different in the way they work.
I cannot give you the precise technical workings but i know that they are different.
I am not saying i know this is your problem but i know from flashing Android roms that eMMC Flash Memory required the correct Android Rom to work with eMMC.
    eMMC is also much faster.

    OP updated with 7.0.3.012e build.

    Changed in 7.0.3.012e:

    • adjusted Kodi patch to fix video stalling in some samples

Fixed. Massive improvement. No lag almost instant when jumping forward, Video/Audio in sync.
    TX5Pro S905x LE Internal.

I have a MXIII (S812, Android 5) and a M8MiniII (S905X, Android 6), both will show simultaneous WIFI and Ethernet connections in Andriod if I turn WIFI on and connect.... I cant say I ever noticed and degradation in network speed though...

Thank You for sharing that info.
I seem to vaguely recall boxes i've owned in the past, which did this but never gave me any connection issues so i never worried about it.

As I pointed out LE is installed to nand here but not tested this problem running it on a new box from the SD card as not got around to installing on the bootup SD card an appropriate add-on to test it to, but will do soon when I get a spare moment.

I had the symptoms you describe way way back on an s805 using Kodi app in Android.
It is not relevant but i am mentioning it as when i flashed OpenELEC it fixed issues.

Can you confirm whether your box is using eMMC Flash Memory ?
I am taking wild guesses here to narrow it down. If your box doesn't have eMMC it is an issue.

Did the 64bit versions of LE display the same issues ?

Also this is not a wifi chip (hardware related) issue - in Android if the Ethernet is plugged in it immediately defaults to that, and disconnects the WiFi
Therefor it is how it is being controlled by the LibreElec code.

Amlogic release the linux drivers for the chips so the bug may be related to that.
Not the same drivers as Android.
I am only reporting this as i have the same behaviour with wifi being simultaneously active whilst ethernet is connected.
I just don't have the hangs etc.
The ip address in Kodi system information is always the ethernet ip address on my box. Always.

Using Fing App on my phone i can see the box has 2 ip addresses on my network.

This is important in letting kszaq know the difference in our chip behaviour.

Anyone got any ideas, or is this maybe a known bug I have not yet seen here being new in this forum ??? Is it maybe a fault just with this what I believe is a brand new MXQ M12CX S905X model with its beautiful metal case design ??

I have been testing 32 bit versions via SD Card install on numerous boxes and confirm same issues of slow down/lag of OSD and live streams locking picture with audio continuing.
    Currently using TX5 Pro s905x 7.0.3.012d internally.
Tested MiniMx s905 2gb/16gb, A95x s905 1gb/8gb as well. All bad results with SD Card LE.

The good news is that when i have installed to LE to Internal the issues are gone.

The read/write speeds of these boxes may be the issue here as i have used numerous Fast SD Cards 8gb and 16gb with different results on different boxes.

No matter how fast the SD Card it will bottleneck due to a poor SD Card Hardware supplied with your box.

    Try and report back.

I'd like to revisit this one again kszaq - it definitely is causing a problem when the wifi connection is being made simultaneously to the ethernet
    - in the connections it shows two IP addresses, one for eth0 and one for wlan0
Unless the wifi is manually turned off, it causes connection problems:
I have a speed tester add-on and it just gets stuck on the ping test (& effectively locks it at that point, can't escape out)
And of course similarly with streaming links it just does not load properly

    #227

TX5 Pro with Qualcomm QCA9377 using Version 7.0.3.012d internal install.
I have the same simultaneous wifi/ethernet connected at same time.
I don't have the connection lockups or loading stream links.
Just letting you know as it must just be isolated to your wifi chip.

rafi, don't buy s905x if you don't need HDR output, there is no performance difference between s905 and s905x based on my experience.

Be aware when choosing S905 Chip Boxes , you will not have a Temp Sensor with LE using the Temp Sensor Disabled versions.
Not using the Temp Sensor Disabled Versions will cause freezing during boot up.

    Thanks!

And how could I do a copy of Android Recovery and Android device tree?

Is there a repository to find latest firmware for Amlogic device? Or need I search in the manufacturer web site?

    Best regards.

The seller should have the firmware or if you're lucky enough to get OTA updates you can retrieve it after the Update has downloaded.
In the OTA Zip you will find the device tree and recovery.

Sorry, for what purpose it is necessary to update the Android, if I use the LE on a SD card?

Not that important for LE functioning. Unless you have a locked recovery and update to newer or sometimes older firmware to get unlocked recovery.

    Hello,

I just buy a Mini M8S II (S905X) device. I want to indtall LE on it. I don't want to use Android on it. I have some questions.

    1. I see that there are some new firmwares in the net. Could I upgrade them before install LE?

    2. How could I get backup if I want to return to Android for start from scratch again?

    Thanks and regards.

Always update Android version Firmware before LE.
You will need a copy of your Android Firmware of course.

Most importantly you should have a copy of your Android Recovery And the Android Device tree.
This will be needed if you want to enter recovery from internal LE and flash back Android.

Always run SD Card LE Version before you think about installing internally until you have run that version and it all works.
