i have a mx2 running kodi jarvis opandenelec nemisis build and tried to update it to 8.0 well durring reboot it wont go past the openelec splash screen . I cant get it to go into recovery mode via toothpick method not sure what to do any help appriciated ?

After updating a mini mx 1gb 8gb, from version 7.0.3.012 to 8.0.1h, the remote control button does not turn off the box, turns it on but does not turn it off. I also tried configuring it with key map editor but nothing. Did someone happen?

I did fresh install. Running LE 8.0.1g from SD Card.

Run on SD Card first to make sure it all works before installing internally.
EDIT: can I try replacing the dtb on the SD card with another one? Or do I have to do a fresh start and burn the LibreELEC image on the SD card again?
Just Replace Device Tree. Reboot.
If it Freezes on Boot Logo, Try another dtb.

Maybe try to load without any dtb at all, because it could be taken from internal memory of your device.
He's got an S905 Chip not a S905X.
Searched high & low but cannot find the same date firmware or a later one than 20160303 so it won't install. Guess I have a paperweight now unless there's something more extreme I can try.
You have nothing to lose. Flash an all black s805 MXQ Rom.
Open the box and see what wifi chip and board board you have.
Take a picture.

No Idea why LibreELEC . 7.0. is even in there.
I cannot see this custom Channel setting in the Menu using Jarvis 7
Downgrading from 8 to 7 would wipe your settings/addons etc.
No idea about Auto Update.

This is only an option to choose a custom channel (url) in Krypton 8.
Not Jarvis 7.
It worked for me on my MiniMx S905 1gb/8gb.
I updated from 8.0.1g to 8.0.1h.
It only Updates to latest Version.
There is no choice to choose an earlier version.
Are you sure it has realtekwifi, or does it have a broadcom chip?

I then gave up & removed SD card & toothpick & rebooted.This is when the box went into recovery mode, but either choosing reboot from there or pulling power & reinserting will not boot into anything but the recovery mode.
This nothing i have seen with @kszaq's images since versions way back stopped replacing Bootloaders.
7.0.3.3c.img.gz does not replace original boot loader so i believe you need a fresh install of Android.
It's a pain but that will be your only option with this chip.
Amlogic USB Burning Tool and then hunt for Android Firmware for s805.
That is a challenge because these boxes are all clones with different boards and hardware.

Looking for some advice. I tried to do this earlier today & could not get the toothpick method to work.After countless attempts I gave up & removed the toothpick, & booted as normal.

I guess the question is, should LE be doing the refresh rate switching even with the option turned off? It certainly seems to be, at least according to what is reported in Codec Info.
Refresh rate switching to your TV is what it does.
Check if your TV refresh rate changes when it is enabled and vice versa.
Codec info displays info of the file stream you are playing not what your tv's refresh rate is.
But this second box need to be able to WiFi. But when I go into connections there is no WiFi listed just the hard wired Ethernet. I tried the Abox A2 as well which at first showed all the WiFi connections but then these disappeared showing just the hard wired Ethernet.
Unplug ethernet and reboot. See if that works.
In my case, the sound and wifi do work. I can't cause the box to be switched on by CEC, though. Didn't copy any dtb to the fat32 partition and there is no default one exist either.

If future Update is released and requires device tree Update for that release, what will we have to do ?
I added the https://qwerin.cz/kodi/s905.php as a Second custom channel without really knowing what this will do.
Is this correct ? or will there be a prompt to choose the correct device tree when choosing a future update that requires a device tree update ?

They change Boards, Wifi Chips, Card Readers, Dodgy Memory Flash, Crap Ram, Botched Android Firmware, Faking Ram, Bootloader etc etc etc.
