This did not work for me. Since I am not able to ssh in, I just put the file I created in notepad++ into the config file folder via Samba. Is this all I would have to do?

I would try this settings
Thanks, that was the same thing I stumbled upon.

I will have some time to try when I get home from work. Would this be the correct info to place in xorg.conf I was not exactly sure what to use. All of the other examples I found were for Intel.

tried the update with the new file, still getting green screen. I will have to try the modesetting driver again when I have more time.
Took a peak at the hardware log, it does almost recognize my gpu. Should be vega 11 though.

Try the LibreELEC-Generic.x86_64-8.2-devel-20180308-amdgpu.tar, it has the drm-next-17 branch of Alex Deucher's kernel tree. Also has latest xorg and mesa git.
Thank you, I will give it a shot when I get home from work

The avx build doesn't include AMD drivers. I am currently doing a rebuild with them enabled, so you may try the next build. Raven Ridge reportedly works better in 4.17 though so you may run into issues.
Thank you very much, I will keep a lookout for it. Windows drivers are not very good for Raven Ridge yet either.

New avx build uploaded with 4.16-rc4, X.org 1.20-rc1, mesa 18.1-git, xf86-video-intel-git.
I wanted to try and update my previous version of this build on my AMD Raven Ridge 2400g. I did not have any luck with the modesetting driver so far and was hoping this new build might work for me.
Even though I only boot to a green screen I am able to access via samba and drop the .tar file in the update folder but I do not think it is actually updating. How hard would it be for me to create a boot image to do a fresh install with this build? (Sorry if this is a stupid question)

Gave the build a try and no luck, I just boot to a green screen. I do see the libreelec logo before it fully boots though. Thank you very much for adding the AMD drivers in to try for me, it is greatly appreciated. I have included a link to my logs in case you wanted to take a look at them.

Try the 20180221 avx build, I've enabled AMD drivers in it.
Thank you very much, I will give it a try.
MIght have another issue though. So far with Windows users have been able to get full 4k@60 on all of the motherboards that are only listed as having HDMI 1.4 since the processor itself seems to control the port, but in this article it says that the Linux kernel looks to a bios table instead, so Linux users will need a modified kernel to get HDMI 2.0 on the same boards. Interesting read.

If there is something available, it will be through the Milhouse builds.
As far as testing for Linux goes, according to the Phoronix website some 1-2 days ago, Raven Ridge requires the very latest of "everything" in terms of Linux kernel and drivers . I don't think that Milhouse is that far already.
Thanks for the update.

Has anyone tested the new AMD Raven Ridge processors with Libreelec yet? Looking forward to building a new setup.

You better wait for kernel 4.15
Thanks that was a good read. I will probably have to wait for motherboards to catch up too. There are not any motherboards yet with HDMI 2.0 support for the Raven Ridge chips yet either. They should make for a pretty good HTPC build at a reasonable price though.

Hello Escalade,
I have been using Apollo lake boards for a while and working great. I am thinking about upgrading to AMD Raven Ridge when it is released. I know your builds have extra Intel support but I am wondering how well AMD is supported.

have you tried using the keymap editor addon? It is in the kodi programs repo. I personally us a flirc for my nuc and love it.

I also had to make sure "full uhd color" was turned on on the input on my tv for this to work.

Hi I already have stable libreelec 8.1.2 on my NUC. If I use this by placing the file in the update folder will it update and keep my previous settings like PVR channels or will it overwrite everything. Sorry for noob question I am new to all of this many thanks
This build is bigger and needs a bigger partition I believe, but you can do a system and kodi backup from libreelec and them just move the the backup from the back up folder to another computer. Do a fresh install and move the backup back into the backup folder and do a restore. Works for me. Not sure if there is an easier way.
