    Thanks for the hint

Instead of browsing through the Kodi Wiki, I tried installing Coreelec on my 4 Years old Odroid2.

Surprisingly it was able to run both 4k Video and SD-Television with the 3840x2160 resolution selected.

So I leave Libreelec for now and hope for a similar functionality in the future

Thanks again and hopefully until the near future

Hi Thanks for the hints, but to my Understanding I was doing neither nor.

I kept the Kodi resolution to 1080p, as I know, that this might improve the performance of the Interface itself. The only thing I did was to increase the screen resolution to 3840x2160. This is even possible in Standard Mode of Settings.

How to whitelist Videomodes, I have not the slightest clue.

Maybe it would be good to add these settings already in the installation package so everybody who makes a plain install like me is benefitting from them ?!?

Hi, found the solution, after changing everything from Network Cable to MicroSD.

Libreelec on Raspi 4 is not able to upscale SD-Television to 4k Screen resolution.

If you reduce the Screen resolution, the stuttering and delay stops.

Fun fact, I had to go down to 720p and then could go up to 1080p; simply downgrading to 1080p was not successful.

Result: You have to decide currently which is more needed; SD-Television or 4k Videos. Upgrading to as Raspberry Pi for 4k reasons does not make Sense as long as You are watching SD-Television. Also 720p-TV, (Standard for german public HD-TV) shows some minor glitches

P.S. Initial Testing was done with 9.2.1; 9,2,3 was reacting exactly the same..

    Hi All

I am running a TV-Headend Server on a Synology Box to feed several devices in my home.

Lately I did an upgrade to Raspi 4 on a TV. Installation is Ok, the Raspi is capable of running up to 4k Video; BUT:

SD-Video from TV-Headend has major problems, The picture is stuttering and lagging behind the Audio Stream.

As TV-Headend was working perfectly on all other Devices (Android, Windows, Odroid/Librelec 8 ) It surely did look like a Codec Problem on the Raspi for me...

So I checked the Raspi Homepage for the MPEG-1 Codec; not available anymore for Raspi 4.

I think the Raspi 4 does have enough Power to decode MPEG-1 in Software, So maybe somebody knows a Workaround or can implement a permanent solution.

OR, if a am totally wrong, maybe somebody can tell what the real problem is and how to fix it :)

    CU Frank

Hello, it seems that in the latest version (Beta2) the SD aka MPEG2 Streams are scrambled.

Audio works, but there is no picture.

It`s like in the old days when you had to purchase Hardware Accelleration.

The problem could not be fixed with downgrading - only a from scratch Installation of 9.02 did solve the problem.

    Hi,thanks for the hints..

After Reinstallation and checking the whole network queue, I identified the network cable as the bad guy.

It seems to have been somewhere in between of working and nirvana, that's why it was working sometimes and sometimes created very low throughput.

So Bug was on my side, sorry thanks :)

Hi, after updating to 8.95.3 I seem to have a problem with the network performance.

    Two issues:

    1. Medialibrary via shared mysql db remains empty after start (works on Nuc, rpi, android).

This can be resolved by: systemctl restart kodi

    2. 4k content is now stuttering (10 sec reload after every minute or so played)

Medialibrary worked since 8.90.5 (earliest version tested on ODROID)

4k worked with 8.95.2 (only tested 4 k content there)

This seems to indicate a network problem in the current 8.95.3 release (at least in my environment).

If you need me to provide some logs, just tell me what you need.

    Hi Folks
Even in 8.0 I have still problems with my central mysql database on the ODROID C2.

I did some small investigations and it seems to be a boot sequence problem (at least what I found).

I have the "wait for network" activated in libreelec settings (with various delays up to 100000 seconds ;) )
But it seems that the network adapter gets activated twice during boot (at least the network leds stop blinking while libreelec starts and restart blinking after a second).

It is not a general problem, since I was able to connect my running ODROID C2 to mysql by simply:
ssh'ing to the ODROID and entering "systemctl restart kodi" :D

So maybe my findings help you to fix the issue permanently

    Hi Klojum
    Sorry, I didn't get that....

You mean I only need to generate a shutdown.sh in sambashare\Configfiles, and that will be used automagically ???
That would be perfect - can you confirm?

$1 will then be defined by the shutdown option that is selected in Kodi ??

Is there anything else I need to take care of, or can I just add the Case after #!/bin/sh (In case I don't want to run general commands, which I do not want to)

    Thanks in advance
    Frank

P.S. My first comment to autostart.sh was that the link was referring to an empty page...

The wiki page I posted contains information for both "autostart.sh" and "shutdown.sh", and it works fine.

So it's a layer 8 problem and the solution is simple: exchange the user for a competent one.

Retried and it works now, kudos, it seems that they did some maintenance on the wiki - No pun intended, no need being rude (Layer 9 problem)

fzwo: I think this thread is what you are looking for.

    Hi, vpeter

Thanks, but this is what I wanted to avoid, since I expect any changes in systemctl will be overwritten by the next update.

So if the the shutdown.sh solution would work, this would be perfect for me.
So I think I will be patient (at the moment it is a two click versus a one click shutdown)...

    Thanks, Frank

    Hi

Maybe I am only too stupid to find out how it actually works, but I'd like to have a script that will be executed while shutdown, which is not overwritten by Systemupdates.

This could be used to send Commands to external components like home automation, receivers, e.g.

The other way (sending commands during startup) would also be nice, but is at least for me not that important since my HTPC is not reestablishing HDMI after failed Hardware-Test ( for the Receiver to provide a virtual monitor)

The change should not be too big (e.g. a link to specific file in the Samba accessible Share)

What do you think - could this be possible ?!?

    Kind Regards
    Frank

qnap is on 24/7 and i tested with the wait for network settings, just didn't put that in the blurb as it is long enough as it is, as well as all the other stuff I tested,

I have even seen the missing menus when there is no advancedsettings.xml and the db is local

Hi, I have the same behaviour, with my C2.
All other components (rpi and X86) do behave as expected...

It seems, that currently something is broeken with the C2 Build.

Maybe it has something to with the "- Davilla's (MrMC) MySQL configuration added to the Kodi GUI found in Settings > Services instead of using advancedsettings.xml" wrxtasy was referring to in his post.

I did not find the setting in the regular distribution, but maybe something got messed up.

Lets hope that it gets fixed during for the next release, as the C2 is by far the most capable mini-device I know...
